Topic: What happened!!!

Now, i got up this morning and did a fantastic DubStep mix. I closed everything down and went and had a cuppa tea and a fat one to celebrate. When i come back and open up my laptop and RMX The Screen said "Invalid Skin File (error line %in XML)" So i adjust the screen resolution down in stages all the way to the lowest resolution but nothing helps...

This is the latest in a growing number ov things that have gone wrong including glitchy/ wobbly audio when mixing. This computer is far above the recomended specs (its an i3 processor running Windows 7) so i'm running out ov patience and Money. I'm getting bored ov the little glitches and its impacting on my enjoyment and have started to think that i won't get the equipment out as its not working properly!!!

What can i do?

What else do you use the lappy for?
Have you installed other software/hardware since VDJ and the RMX?

For these issues to suddenly start heppening, something has changed. Think back - roll back...

If all else fails, try a re-build of the lappy.

FWIW - As my laptop is multi purpose I have made it dual boot. The VDJ Boot side has Vista, VDJ, Video drivers and nothing else - no wifi, no bluetooth no A/V. The other boot side is Win7 and has all my day to day apps and I can screw with it as much as I like and it won't affect my working side.

Effectively you end up with to PC's in one!

Not sure whats goin on but it seems ever since you got that new lappy its been all down hill for you.................

Please don't make threads with titles like that.
Its not professional at all.
I trust you are using the console version and not something else, because it can cause problems such as this.

First, in Vista, please disable UAC or User Account Control in control panel/security.
Then save the install file to your desktop.
Right click on it and select "run as administrator".
If using multiple user accounts please copy the vdj folder from the admin account at my documents to the other accounts.

BTW Whats wrong with the title?
Its just the way i express myself i think. I'm less technically minded than most and find my emotive side shines through in such circumstances.

I was getting particularly desperate the other day as this problem just appeared suddenly, like something had been changed... i later remembered deleting a file that was downloaded (and was still in the Download Folder) DOH!!!!!
I restored it from the Recycle Bin and HeyVoilla!!! ALL IS LIGHTNESS AND JOY AGAIN!!!

HA! Hello, if you post your VDJ settings and the latency settings in you Hecules control panel, we may be able to help with your sound issues.

oh and as for the latency settings etc....... I have no idea how to find these things and subsequently send them to you. Not even sure if this version "basic OEM" even allows such a thing.

oh and DUBSTEP IS BRILLIANT!!! Its got some totally incredible sounds!!!

Yea. I forgot how to check all that as I traded up about 6 months ago to an NS7. Maybe somebody how is more familiar can help you set it up better to get rid of your sound issues. Sorry
