Topic: 1210's Styli

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

I'm helping put on a soul night next weekend, so my 1210's are coming out of retirement for the older boys who still play their vinyl ;-)

I never really invested in this technology in the past as I still have the original Technics carts still in place. However since these decks are now over 20 years old, haven't really been used in the last 10 years. I thoght it best to replace the styli before the event (I think I only ever replaced them once before that!).

I don't want to spend shed loads. I want a "good" reasonably priced stylus that I can use with the existing cartridge. I don't scratch, but may "have a go" in the future. I do have TCV and will want to play with that at some point.

The aim here is to get the club to by the styli as the hire fee for the 1210's. Another reason why they can't be a silly price.

And they must be available in the UK.

I've also never really setup my 1210's just took them out the box, flight cased and used them! I've seen all sorts of videos on how to do this, but am looking for a decent recommendation on how to do this.

Cheers,

Roy

Ortofon Concorde Pro, just the standard. The price is reasonable imo

Oh: and those that you named are compatible too. :)

You buy needles based on the " Output Voltage " Its Called the MV. The Higher the better. The concord pro's (5 MV) were good when there was no laptop dj iing. Just staright up vinyl mixing. With laptop DJ iing and timecodes..The frequency of the needle doesnt make a difference, its just the output ( Higher output means better timecode readings). I would recomend any needle thats 7 MV or higher for better Timecode signal reading. Since all the needles have different price ranges, Buy whats cheaper.

Shure M44-7... 9.5 MV
Ortofon Night club 2... 8 MV
Ortofon Digitrack... 8 MV
Ortofon Q berts...11 MV
Ortofn Concord Scratch 7MV
Ortofon OM scratch...7 MV
Ortofon Elctro...7.5 MV

Numark, you are funny sometimes GM.

Why not just replace the originals with the originals? stanton 500 AL if I remember, get the mk2's in blue. Hard to scratch your records with them where as the shures are pin point sharp and not good for people that haven't played on a pair of deck's in a while/novices.

Shure M44-7, I never look back.

Whoa, I think that's missing part of the picture. The frequency is not important when the record is just spinning, at which point the signal has a constant frequency. Problem is that the frequency changes dramatically on fast scratches and nudges, so a broad frequency response is still very important. :)

Shure M44-7, Shure M44-7, Shure M44-7 and Shure M44-7, lol!!
