Topic: stupid song requests for bridal introductions...

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

I got a gig tomorrow and theres 3 groomsman and 3 bridemaids including best man and maid of honor...
Wedding couple has requested a song for each person to come into!!!!

That means I'll be MC'n as well as cueing up 7 songs in the space of less than 5mins.

Some of the song selection is stupid too.... who the hell requests spongebob theme song?!

Good luck to me!

... just felt like venting...

Use automix. Have the seven songs loaded in the correct order and have a button mapped to automix : mix_now. So all ya gotta do it press one button leaving the other hand free for the mic and the brain free for MCing ;-)

don't play the dorky requests and smooth that out ahead of time

with the happy check writer and totally relaxed couple .....

Gadget .... fer cryin' out loud the rest of us are trying to look

intelligent , but YOU showed up , thanks

Cheers mate ;-)

These wedding requests are getting weirder and weirder, you can't avoid them. Everyone is going for the next 'best wedding video ever' on YouTube...

It's their day. If they wanna act and look like idiots who am I to stop them. They are paying me ;-)

have to say when ive done weddings in the past i have been given a joky song and a serious song ot play, the jokey songs always seemed to go down better (best one was tell me ma - shamrock) followed by a sloppy song for there first "propper" dance. really set the mood for the night and it was proberbly the most fun i've ever had doing weddings

When I have multiple songs for the intros I actually use iTunes and I set the start time for each song in the options section (so the song starts at the desired point) and just hit the right arrow key... next, next, next.

edit

@GM, sure you can avoid em, just don't do weddings, lol!

Man thanks for the suggestion. I was trying to map it while I was at the gig and was trying to remember the map command. I'm using v6.07 is it there? I was typing in automix: mixnow which wasnt working lol.

Anyways I'll try it again for my next gig. I always use automix for background music and it would be helpful for those long outro songs you just want to skip sometimes.

Gig was smooth sailing otherwise. From 5.30pm to 10.30pm but I ended up finishing @ 10pm because everyone pretty much left. I must have been playing shit music lol.

Just click on the next track in the autoplay list and it will fade into that song.
