looking for other opinions....

I've had this mixes for couple months now and I absolutely love it. Best mixer I've ever used. I fully and whole-heartedly recommend it, but be sure to upgrade the firmware to the latest version.
 
I have been reading the manual trying to figure this out.
can the cross-fader be used in midi mode while still cutting normal audio ?


here's my reason I want to scratch videos but I never like the sound of the internal mixer.
so I want to use the X-Fader for the audio in the channels and the internal video xfader
 
just got the mixer having upgraded firmware, having a hard time getting Denon DJ ASIO to recognize the device.
and I have in in USB B Mode.
 
I guess no one has the DN-X1600 (At least that's logged on right now)

I had 2 issues:

1) Sound Issue - Got Error in ASIO Driver every Time I tried to use it:
Resolution: Vitural DJ Doesn't support 96K so you have to set the device to 44.1
2) Midi Issue --- Virtual DJ Would Lock up when discovering Device
Resolution: If you have 2 DN-S3700 and it's on Midi Channel 1 you must set your 1600 to Midi channel 2

I's working good now..
Latency a little better than maya44 (in windows 7 64 at least)

The device still comes up as a simple midi device do we not have a native map for the 1600 ?

Ok I like talking to myself, LOL

This issue has not been resolved!!!

Sometimes when it VDJ Starts up it hangs, nothing I can do
if I reboot the mixer it starts up then it may or may not work

The Mixer is Bad A$$!!
Cross Fader is perfect (Don't too much like the clicking... but it will break in)

Just some minor issue with the midi and virtual dj right now.
trying to work this out...

I can't comment the ASIO issues since I'm using my DN-X1600 with a Mac, but the crossfader thing should work. Every time you move the crossfader, a small MIDI-icon should light up on the screen to signify that the mixer is sending MIDI-data to the computer.
 
are you using the soundcard features of the mixer?
any midi configs?
 
Yes, I'm using the DN-X1600 as my primary sound card. In VDJ is use channels 1 and 2 for decks and channel 3 for samples.

I haven't done any MIDI-mapping, since I have Xone 1D which already has more than enough knobs and buttons for my needs, so the dedicated MIDI-knobs and buttons on the DN-X1600 are a bit redundant. And of course, mapping the EQ's and the faders to control VDJ's internal mixer would be just plain stupid.
 
Does the device still show up on your machine as simple midi device ?

I have a device file, I will post it up later, that has all the buttons and channel 1 - 4 defined
The device will come up as dn-x1600 also which is cool, I can't seem to get the LEDs to work
I have a ticket open with VDJ and Denon, I think I need INIT Strings, but not sure what to put.
