hi been using the trial which i really like but a few questions if sumone can answer?
main one being is it poss to hook up vinyl decks and mp3 vinyl to vdj,aka like serato?is that possible?also on the trial any effects i record simply disappear the next time i load up vdj is tht the case when u buy vdj?
any help much appreciated
also i want it on home pc and my laptop do i have to buy twice?

Yes VDJ does use time codes.. quality and usability is directly related to the quality/speed of the soundcard and computer.
No, if your record a sample with VDJ it stays there.
No you are allowed too install two copies of VDJ, only ONE can be working though.. IE: you cant use both at the same time..
 
ty for reply so how do i hook up decks?ie serato has a black box?and so i could install it on both computers but use one at a time?that would work for me,ty for reply

theirs no "simple" answer on that.. your best bet is to check the Wiki and see what others have done..
connecting the stuff up is relatively easy.. deciding on what soundcard you need is the harder part.. ;-)

you lost me on that one... Why is serato your best bet??
 
i cant see a way of hooking up decks and using time coded/mp3 vinyl,or am i missing the point somewhere?it is entirely possible at my age lol
 
Same way Serato does.. That "black box" you mentioned is just a high end sound card.. most importantly it has inputs that allow you to connect up two turntables to it..

The difference with VDJ is you can use ANY sound card you want.. but of course... for timecode.. you want a sound card with phone inputs and with very low latency..

but your not limited to these.. basically you can use ANY good quality sound card.
Also you might want to also look at the all-in-ones.. This would give you midi control of the software AND still let you connect two TT's! (best of both worlds)
an example of that would be the hercules RMX or the brand new ADJ VMS4

Serato makes you use their "black box".

Virtual DJ let's use other company's Time Code Interfaces. For example:
Hercules DeeJay Trim, ESI U46DJ, ESI Maya44 and a few others.

Not only that, there are also many dedicated hardware controllers.


 
I've been using the Maya 44 for a long time on a PC and just switched to a macbook pro. Apparently the new OSX on the macs aren't compatible with the Maya. Any thoughts?
 
Could it be bootcamped?? I dont own a MAC so I dont know if its possible.

Hi I am currently using the trial version of virtual dj. I have two turntables with serato timecodes and a hercules rmx as soundcard and mixer. I was wondering if Id be able to use a behringer ddm4000 mixer with my set-up and use the hercules rmx as a soundcard. I would greatly appreciate a response as I am keen on buying virtual dj. I dont like serato, its annoying.

HI can any one help my hercules rmx console lights up but i can not crossfade scroll r anything with the deck and the only button that seems two work is the mic on/off button and vol for my headphones if any1 has any tips thank u
