Thank you Huey for you quick reply
I have another pre-buy question:
Can Virtual DJ Pro be set up in a way that the vinyl is as responsive as a typical analog setup? Or do I have to expect a slight latency or delay when I scratch? I am used to an old-school two tables/mixer setup and do not want to lose the original feel and responsiveness of my current scratching routines. As for the sound, I don't really care if it's not emulating the exact same sound of true vinyl, I just want a true feel.
If you guys have any suggests concerning the Timecode vinyl type (Serato, Numark, etc. which one works best?) and other config aspects, let me know!
Thank you guys,
DJ twoSets

No problem that's what were here for. As far as a delay you gotta remember your using a computer, so yes there can be a delay. I think it boils down to how well you have your system set up. For me VDJ works good when scratching, I'm nothing like Qbert or some of the other scratch gods, lol, but I can throw down (atleast I like to think so, Lmao!!!) Stick around and I'm sure others will chime in.
Hope this helps

Yeah I get what you're saying!
By the way take a look at the «cheap timecode solution» I just posted... I wanna have advice on this 'cause I'm pretty sure this could work with proper ASIOALL configuration!
Peace out!

I use Virtual DJ and I love it, when I transitioned from cds to laptop, it took me a little time to adjust the computer and myself to the new "feel" but now I mix better in the computer system, I am sure it will happen to you the same with the scratch.
As far as latency betwen Serato and Virtual DJ, my turntabelist friends as well as the hard core club djs friends, prefer Serato because the latency.
Virtual DJ is an open system that works with almost any audio card, while Serato engine and drivers are focus in their propietary audio cards.
I have seen many good djs scratch in virtual Dj succesfully, but still today after some years, I found myself twiking the settins in Virtual.

Get a good low latency sound card and you should be fine.. the one that comes with Virtual Vinyl is good.
Or you can look into using decks like the denon DN-S3700 or cdj 2000??
I use 2 DN-S3700s and a my maya 44 USB.
I have the latency down to 8-9ms (about 3 on jog wheel 6 on sound)
and I am comfy with scratching on that.
In windows XP i was able to get the latency lower in the maya44 driver but I can't seem to do that in windows 7
but the ultra-low latency works with my faster laptop ... I don't know how much advantage that give me..
You mind compensates for the delay.

Not tried it myself but, try upgrading to W7 Pro, and install the XP patch. I hear it makes your W7 OS work, and respond, just like XP. As I said though, I have not confirmed this myself.
