Topic: Rmx install help

i just got an Rmx and i downloaded the new drivers for vista/w7 32 & 64 bit ..... but it's not working

should i run the install cd first , even though the drivers are wrong , then make sure it's installed , then update the drivers ?

then config ??


also can you please help REALLY FAST? i have a big gig for THE PRESIDENT IN 5 MINUTES

i'd also like to report that whenever i pick my nose..... my fingers stick to this STUPID KEYBOARD


that's just a little sarcasm and spoofing of the last second schmucks who do silly stuff with a gig bearing down on them .....

i don't have to be gigging anywhere 'til saturday night


but i am having install problems with my new RMX if you can help , thx Chuck

So I guess you just downloaded the driver file without reading the nice instructions on the download page...

"Installation :

1- Uninstall the previous driver version:

...

Alternatively, you can simply launch this package: it will uninstall the previous drivers for you."


In other words, this means that if you already have drivers, they should be removed, and if you don't, they will simply be installed.

So no, you don't need to install the drivers from the CD.

As for the rest of the installation process:

2- Restart your PC.

3- Following these instructions to install the new drivers.

4- At the end of the installation, you may be prompted to update your firmware version if your console doesn’t use the most recent version. Please be sure to strictly follow the on-screen instructions for this very important procedure.

5- You are now ready to use your DJ device.
 
thanks anyway but that's no help....

i'm admin so i don't have to annoint myself the privilege .....

i'm gonna uninstall , then delete the drivers then download a new set and turn off the anti virus this time and see if that works

maybe that's the problem

also i can still try the cd then update the drivers .... wouldn't surprise me if that worked

it's vista home prem 64 bit
 
Don't bother with the CD. Just use the latest driver (2.HDJS.2010).
 
none of that is working

after the procedure the icon in the sys tray has an x on it and "open" and "select device " are grayed out , so the install is not working

this is not some high end device i just wanted to get a well known controller to use as my intro to controllers ....

i'll just return it and get an omni control or a total control .......
 
i just tried it on my w7 lappy , the back up .... exact same results

i know the omni control runs on wall current , not the system buss so i may get one of those

so it's (rmx) another item for the list .... not ready for 64 bit prime time .....
 
To bad, cause it works fine on all the 64 bit systems I tested...
 
same here Kirk, running on w7 64, have a look on my blog, there's a toot on installing rmx, has helped a few other guys, you may hit on lucky hopefully.

anyway i'm using the Omni Control ....worked on the first try ......

apparently you have to check the ultra latency (i'm using 256) and 2 lines mixer

you can't use asio plus a second card (in other words use the crap windows card for the headphones ) ???

doesn't matter i just run the windows card output into the mixer separately for headphones and samples

i'm using "jingle palette" that Tayla turned me onto for samples , so i'm not using the onboard sample player

anywhoo that's gonna be my new set up for the hideous strip club ......


i'm gonna get probably a v7 plus a new m audio sound card for mobile gigs

how do i get an Omni Control icon now under my name ??

i was trying to assign a 3rd channel as headphones or samples inside the config .........

but outside the config works too .........

That is only possible for products that come bundled with either VirtualDJ LE or CueLE.

The OmniControl does not come with VirtualDJ included, so an icon is not possible.
