Ok I have been having a problem but now it’s getting bad and I don’t know what to try. so ill explain to everyone in hopes someone has an idea for me to try.
I am running windows 7 pro-64bit with 6 gig ram and a high speed chip so I know I’m good there. I’m running (2) gforce 512 mb dedicated video cards combined dell says its one gig of dedicated video ram. It’s a Dell alien wear laptop mx17 .
When I’m not using the hdmi out to my plasmas this problem never happens, so I know it has something to do with hdmi or the video cards somehow or some sort of config setting , I have no idea. When I do have my plasmas connected, and let’s say I want to load a new set of photos with the slide show. I click effects, then click video effects, then slide show…..then open……then you get the screen that pops up. That says choose an image form the folder to show, then I high light or just double click on a photo, either way the problem is what’s next. Once a photo is highlighted and I click open that folder becomes see through instead of closing the folder DOES NOT CLOSE and stays on top of vdj but you can see through it. Now what worse is I can’t move the folder, I can’t minimize the folder, I can‘t “x” out if it either. I can’t do anything in that or vdj screen. vdj stay under the stuck folder. Now the only way I’ve found to get the folder to close is to do a ctrl/alt/del, then the page comes up asking which option I would like to do. I just hit cancel to get out of that screen without doing anything and that stuck screen goes away….but in that process it also turns the video feed off. So now I have to go to vdj config and then go to video and restart the video card and then go back to slide show and try again to select a photo and hope the vdj gods lets the folders screen close. Again this only happens when I’m connected to my plasma TV’s. Does anyone have any ideas I can try?

Have a look at this thread, and my fix/workaround towards the bottom. It's not just HDMI. It happens with s-video and VGA..ie. anytime you use extended desktop with Windows 7
