Topic: Customized Virtual DJ App

I'm looking for a program and/or developer that would leverage much of the VDJ platform but have additional features such as more robust chroma key control, additional video input and output options, ability to save a recorded video in definable lengths (ie, 30 seconds from a full song). In short, we'd love to find something (or be able to easily modify) an application that is part VDJ, part TV studio. As this will be rolled out o couple of hundred locations over time, we need to keep HW and SW costs under a couple of K.

I'm a bit surpised no one has replied yet: I guess you can't get it done.
VDJ is developed over several years and you can imagine it's copyright protected. Without permission from the developers I guess no one wil help you with this. I think some handy guy/girl have to write a complete new program. Not sure you'll be done with your budget.

Got no inside info about the costs but why not ask Atomix what they can do writing a client-specific package?

Software development is expensive. You should make a ticket and ask the question there however.
 
The actual development cost could be more. What i was referring to was that the cost for any hardware per each location would have to be under a couple of K. I just don't know if there are companies or individuals that know how to do this. thanks
 
I expect you'd be able to find a developer / team of developers willing to take something like this on for the right price (which unless you've done this sort of thing before you'd probably find surprisingly high), but I very much doubt Atomix would be willing to let you or the developers use their code as the base. You'd probably have to start from scratch, which would make the cost and time involved astronomical.

Have you exhausted all other options to get the functionality you need by combining several off-the-shelf products?
 
Most of what you're asking could be implemented by a competent developer in the form of plugins for VirtualDJ.
 
SBDJ--I think that is what i am hoping to determine from this posting. Do you have any experience or know someone who I could contact with regards to checking out whether adding/writing plugins will accomplish what we are looking to do? thanks
 
i was watching a local morning news/variety show this morning. I sware it looked like they were using auto-boom during the segment with the band was playing. The kept cutting between the crowd(the show is filmed live outside) and back to the band. Every time they went to the band..there it was auto-boom
 
what is auto-boom? How is that related to this thread? thanks
 
Boom-Auto is a video effect in vdj. It's relevant here because it gave the appearance of someone already doing what you are asking about.
