I am very new to dj'ing with a laptop and I'm not very tech savvy. So please respond with user-friendly lingo. Here goes: I realize I need an external soundcard so I can use my headphones to cue up music and play the music in stereo mode. By using an external soundcard which is plugged into my mixer (Behringer), do I use the external mixer for audio controls (low,mid,high, crossfading, volume control, microphone, etc.) or do I use the Virtual DJ mixer controls on my laptop screen?

Hi,
you can use both. All mentioned controls will have effect on your sound. But the controls on the mixer are easier to use so in time you probably won't use the on-screen controls anymore.
