Hi there, I need some help with setting up my gear to VDJ.
I have:
Numark Axis 9's
Numark DXM 06 mixer
KRK RP5 speakers
A Laptop

What I want to do is use timecoded CD's to be able to use my mixer and CD players to control VDJ. To do so I'll need a USB sound card, now, here's my question.
Is it possible to use two USB sound cards to avoid shelling out money on something like a Maya44 USB sound card?
For instance, would I get away with getting two of the following:
http://www.decks.co.uk/products/behringer/UCA202 (Behringer UCA202 2 in/2 out USB Audio Interface)

If so, is it easy enough to hook it all up and sync both sound cards or something?

Alternatively is it possible to use a cheap 5.1 surround sound USB sound card?

Thanks for the help,

Mikepj.

For reliable timecode use, you will need a proper 4-in/4-out ASIO sound card such as ESI Maya44 USB or Hercules DJ Trim.

Using ASIO4ALL you may be able to use two EXACTLY THE SAME cards, but performance may not be good. ASIO4ALL is a software emulator and will not give true low latency (Important for scratching) and CPU usage may be high.

A 5.1 card is not suitable because it only has one input (You need two for two decks.)
