I've just bought a pair of EV ZX5s (they sound awesome from my 20 second test in my living room so far!) but now I need to upgrade subs. (Currently 2 EV SB 122 subs, 400w, 12" cones.)
I've seen these at silly money each in my local shop (end of line I guess), from the specs they could be a good match, (800w RMS, 1600w programme, 3200w peak, 134 dB max. calc spl.) But will they be usable or will they fall apart after 2 gigs? Do they sound alright? Obviously I'm not expecting the same kind of quality as some EV subs, but as long as they're an upgrade from the 12 inch subs then I'll be happy.
What are your thoughts?
