Topic: Upgrade to Pro version discount question

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Hi everyone.
Looking to make the move to software recently and I've tried out all the demos from different suppliers and it looks like Virtual DJ may be the best fit for me.

However, I have some questions about the discount that one would get to upgrade to the Pro version. I'm looking into buying a soundcard for a timecode setup and don't know which is more economical: buy used and buy VDJ pro at the full price or buy new and use the discount? I'm looking into buying a Hercules DeeJay Trim, if that helps.

There's absolutely no dollar value attached to the discount on the "buy" page, and as I haven't purchased the hardware yet, I don't have a serial number to enter.

So here's my question: what does the discount depend on? On the version of VDJ you're upgrading from? On the certain hardware that the software was bundled with? What? And can I get some dollar (USD) values maybe? I just want to know in general, but if there's no real rule here, I'll settle for the discount number value on Virtual DJ LE budled with Hercules DeeJay Trim then ...

Thanks in advance for any responses,
Toma

I'm not sure about the details but what i can tell you is.............just go PRO and skip the rest. With PRO you get access to all the goodies!! You wont regret it!!
Just my 2 cents

Yes, that's what I intend to do. I intend to get both the Hercules sound card and VDJ Pro. The only decision I have to make is whether to get the soundcard used or new (I found one used for lower than the retail price). A used one will offer savings on the soundcard but none on the software and a new one will offer no savings on the card, but savings on the software (because it would be only an upgrade). So I'm just trying to figure out which would be cheapest for me.

OK.. so you just need to know the discount price off Pro for the LE version that comes with the DeeJay Trim?

If you buy secondhand, you may find the user has already regsisterd their serial numbr here against their profile. If they have then you will not be able to re-use that code and woudl therefore end up paying full price for the Pro upgrade.

Check with the seller first. If they haven't registered the LE version then you are going to be quids in. If not, then you'd be better off buying new.

BTW, Hercules products carry some of the biggest discounts on the upgrade. So you are taking the right steps. Just make sure you're covered first.

Cheers,

Roy

Yeah, I just need the discounted price, as in the dollar value, of upgrade from the LE TC version that comes with the Hercules DeeJay Trim sound card to the full Pro version.
I wanna see if I save more money by buying it new or by buying it used. The previous owner of the card has already registered his copy and took advantage of the discount, but is offering the card for a lower price than new.

And just so it's clear, I'm talking about the package that has the card, 2 timecode VDJ vinyls, 2 timecode CDs and 2 audio cables.

But I see the people around here can't answer that question. I kind of hoped that the reps themselves browse this forum, but oh well, I'll just shoot the question off of the main site and see if I can get an answer that way.

Thanks chaps.

As to my original point. As he's already registered the LE version to hmself and his VDJ account, you will not qualify for the discount.

We're not encouraged to post the upgrade price or discount rates in the forums as these may change (or not) in the future...

If you really, reaaly need to know then I suggest you raise a support ticket.

Cheers,

Roy

The discount with a Trim serial gives you a 50% discount off pro or $149.
He gets the discount as long as it has not been used already.

Thank you very much for your reply and for your reply in the support ticket. Looks like I'll be buying the soundcard package new after all. I would have saved only $100 with the second-hand card.

Well, so long fellas, see you after I get my gear and software.
