Windows 7 is better with 32 bit. The 32 bit is more compatable with many drivers and controllers. 64 bit is less compatable and you dont want to get a headache wondering why.

WOW MY SHIT IS 64 BIT AND I AM HAVING A HEADACHE WIT VDJ & SERATO ITCH

Hmm... Im thinking of getting a vaio. It comes with Windows 7 64 bit. Is this whole 64 bit issue gonna be ironed out soon? I see many people are having trouble with it. Is the next vdj update gonna address these problems or smthin? Will put off buying it till im sure. :P Thanks.

It's not VDJ's fault, and in many cases there's nothing they (Atomix) can do about it. Most of the problems people have are down to drivers, either the lack of proper 64 bits ones, or ones that aren't very well written because most companies don't have much experience working with 64 bit hardware and operating systems yet.

The same thing happens every time there's a major shift in computer technology. All we can do is wait, but the good news is we're already a good way through the process and there's plenty of software/hardware that works well on 64 bit machines. You just need to do your research before buying :)

Hmm... Im thinking of getting a vaio Do some research before you buy a Sony, or anything for that matter. I thought spending $1200 on a top of the line Sony would solve some issues and it didn't.

DJEcoast. I originally thought of getting a macbook. but then I heard VDJ doesnt run very well on macs etc, and then I saw this vaio that had pretty good specs (better than the mac) and it was cheaper too. It costs about $1800 (singapore dollars), which translates to about USD $1300.

The vital specs are

Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-520M Processor (2.40 GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 3MB L3 Cache) w/ Turbo Boost Technology
Chipset: Intel® HM55 Express Chipsetiya
Standard Memory: 4 GB DDR3 SDRAM
Video Type: ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5650 Graph 1 GB DDR3
Display Size: 14" Wide (WXGA:1366 x 768) VAIO Disp, LED backlight
Audio Type: Intel® High Definition Audio compatible , 3D audio (Direct Sound 3D support)
Hard Drive Type: 500 GB*4 (Serial ATA, 5400 rpm)

Any views?

1.Need 7200 rpm HD drive.
2. Check Video card in the forum for issues?
3. Screen a little small 15.6 Better size.
4. Need Win 7 32bit os.

Good Luck
Joey....

DJECoast I bough a VAIO and so far its pretty much flawless. In my opinion its more of a per model issue than a brand issue.

Actually, VDJ does run very well on a MacBook (aside from the limited number and types of ports on a MacBook) as long as you are running windows on that MacBook ;)

very much agreed :)

Hmm I dont know. Isnt running windows on a macbook sort of defeating the purpose?

One of the key reason someone gets a macbook is so that it runs on its own mac OS and not on windows right? I mean i'm trying to get away from all the viruses/problems that has plagued windows, so i get a macbook only to have to install windows to get vdj to run properly? I'd rather get a normal laptop then.

Then theres the issue of having to partition your harddisk to install windows as well. If i create a partition, the space I have to store all my songs is reduced as well?
