Hey!
I've been using VDJ for a while now, the demo version, and I'd like to move on with my DJing. Next two steps I'd like to make are buying VDJ, but before I'll buy it, I need to get CD Decks, and a mixer maybe, so if I buy ones that dont support VDJ I don't use my money in to products competiting of my time :)
So now I need your help, I really don't have that much of a clue what to get, I've spent some hours browsing through different options, watched youtube reviews and stuff, but I can't get into it. Here are some options that I have found while searching:
http://topdjgear.com/numark-cd-dj-in-a-box.html (I don't know if I can scratch with these, it sure says "Complete Scratch DJ CD Package" but everywhere else I've seen it without the scratch possibility. Also, is there a version with cdj-400 instead of the 200? :D)
http://topdjgear.com/gemini-cdj-package.html
http://www.djanddiscostuff.com/prodpage.asp?prodid=3128 (only 1 deck and no mixer :/)
As you can see, it's not much.
I'm asking you to give your personal opinnion of these, if you have one, would be great if you could share your experiences and tell me if I can use them with VDJ or not?
You can also suggest your own suggestions :D, but I don't have that much money to spend on my equipment, max of 400€ about. It would be nice again if it would have mixer and 2 decks, CD and mp3 if possible, VDJ usable = extra points, scratching = more extra points :)
Thank you already in advantage,
Jussi :)
P.S. You can view the mixes I've done so far (so you know how noob I am at mixing) in my youtube page www.youtube.com/arcticbeat

Well I would first go out and buy Numarks Virtual Vinyl (same program, different brand) caues it comes with its own soundcard and you wont have to worry about that part, downfall is, you get updates a little later then VDJ (Numark has their own test I guess). Next I would save my money and buy 2 technic 1200's and a "midi" mixer and buy a good 1 no shortcuts here. If you bought a mixer like the "Korg Zero4" then you could just buy VDJ cause the mixer has a soundcard built in. Just some food for thought.

Have you thought about getting the American Audio Radius 3000?

So the thing I do with Virtual Vinyl is, I put the vinyl/cd in and then I can control the music from the program via the deck? If so, it sounds good, but then, I really don't feel like I should get those technic 1200's since I dont have any vinyls, so it would be just using the VV, and if I would get CD decks, I could use my cd's for mixing, but thanks for the ideas, really appriciate it :)

How about NDX 800s they act as midi controllers for Virtual DJ and can play real CDS.
Or if you dont want to play CDS and want that size of control you could try the v7s.

The 800's are abit too expensive also xD but I was wondering if there are any packs that have maybe 400's or something similar and a "mixer"? :)

You can use a wide range of timecoded vinyl or you could use timecoded cd's........Not sure what you want to do with this progarm if your just gonna use your music cd's to mix with and not the program?? The whole point of the program is so you can control and mix MP3's or wave, etc....well I guess you could just use it as a juke box but what fun would that be. After all your topic is "What CD Decks To Get?" Let us know alittle more of what your trying to do. Hope to hear from you soon.

You can still get the AA radius 3000 for about $500.00 each, plus a decent mixer for about $250.00 it's not a bad investment. Virtual dj works amazingly good with the Radius 3000, so if you are thinking of getting a decent equipment to work well with VDj, you should check out the American Audio Radius 3000.

Save up some more money. You will need at least 1500 or better to get something decent.

Whatever cd players you decide on, make sure you get some that have touch-sensitive jogwheels because this allows you to control MP3s like vinyl. I would also suggest cd players that play MP3s because you can store more music on a cd. Thus, you have less cds to carry around in case of an emergency. However, if you envision yourself as eventually becoming a Turntablist, do as beatbreaker1 suggested and get a pair of 1200s. If money is an issue, consider ebay. Furthermore, I recommended that you invest in a mixer since you’re considering cd players. If you ever have software problems, you can simply mix from cds that contain your music (this gives you an alternative mixing option). Unfortunately, you don’t have this option with turntables unless you have real vinyl to mix with...

I agree with Double O except for the part about " Unfortunately, you don’t have this option with turntables unless you have real vinyl to mix with" thats why I always carry a set with me and always have my phone which can be loaded up with music and plugged into the mixer or you can plug in an MP3 player or even an IPOD. And yes always check Ebay and your local crack heads, I got a set of Tech MK2's for 250bucks!!!

I will admit, nothing can replace the feel of vinyl when you’re accustom to it… I started off DJing many years ago with vinyl, so I appreciate a DJ that still carrys it around and keeps it real ;)

Very good suggestion, but not a good mixing option unless you have a device that allows for mixing music stored on the IPOD. However, you're suggestion does give a DJ an option during an emergency, which is ALWAYS good to have.

Ok, now I have found something that I'm really interested in, Cortex DMIX-600 and I've been checking some stores for it, here are some results:
http://winbuyer.pgpartner.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=56217663
http://www.topdjgear.com/codmdimucost.html (with Finland and 80260 Postal code: $274.85 UPS Worldwide Expedited, $282.77 UPS Worldwide Saver, so would both of those be added to the price?)
http://www.prosound-dj.com/cortex-dmix600-ipod-mixing-system-p-1924.html
http://www.djkit.com/product.php?id=1429&cat=62
So what Im asking now is, do you have any experiences of any of these shops, are they reliable, how fast the shipping would be, can they delivery packets to Finland etc.?
Also, if you know some shop where I could get it cheaper (or similar product, but just cheaper or better functions with almost the same price) let me know ;)
Thanks,
jusa

If you are intending to use it to control VirtualDJ then unfortunately it is not suitable.
It is not MIDI capable and also lacks separate outputs from each deck to allow timecode use.

I use two Denon DN-S1200's with a Denon X120 mixer and VDJ. I use the Denons as soundcards (though latency-wise, they're not that great), and the fact that I can also use regular CDs or CDRs with the Denons if my computer decides to go tits up during a gig, or play off a USB thumb drive if I don't have my two CDR's filled with nothing but ace tracks. Though I think I will be getting a separate sound card for better latency and just using the Denons as controllers. I got my Denons for about 380 on DJdeals.com. Or actually, I went to guitar center where they price matched them (they didn't seem too happy about marking them down 120 dollars from their 500 dollar price tag at the time.) :P
