I've read many of the posts on these forums by DJ's or soon to be DJ's. I was wondering how many just use VDJ as a MP3 player in their home with no DJ aspirations?

I came across VDJ just doing a search for MP3 players for a PC/Windows platform. We're in the process of doing a major remodel of our basement and I decided after years of changing CD's over and over to rip them to MP3 files and run them off a computer when we put everything back in its place. I currently have a couple of Pioneer CD players running through a 1995/96 Gemini mixer/Digital Sampler and then out through a Pioneer receiver to Bose speakers. I'll probably also be going with a LCD monitor at least 22 inches wide. It looks great now on my old 22 inch CRT but I was wondering how it stretched out on these wide screen LCD monitors compared to the mostly square screen of an older CRT monitor.

I've downloaded and tested the Pro version of VDJ for a couple of days--all I can say is WOW. I really don't need all the bells and whistles of the Pro version but I was wondering if VDJ Basic has the same skin and look and feel of the Pro version before I buy. I know there are dozens of MP3 programs for the PC on the web, many of them for free but those are just flat out boring when compared to the VDJ. Thanks for any info in advance.

I would just use iTunes. You can make it cross-fade, it would be perfect for that. I have VDJ and if I'm just casual listening, I use iTunes.

I tend to use VDJ to listen to tunes at home because my music is organized for djing and it's easier to find what I want than going through another program.

it isn't that we don't wanna recommend it ......it's just you said you didn't wanna use it professionally......

what's yer budget? maybe get the basic version ....

Basic should meet your requirements for what you want. It has most the features of Pro except for the ability to use external MIDI controllers/timecode (You wont need these for music listening at home) and full-screen video output.

Hello. I am trying to find a song which was available in the Virtual Dj sample song list. Does any one know where i could find a list of song names that come with the Virtual Dj 5.2.
