Hey all,

I have an issue that I have been trying to fix or solve on my own without any success, so here I am hoping that someone can help me out. I have tried Tech support, but they keep missing the issue because of other issues I was having with VDJ 6.05 I download music videos from 8th world Wonder without issues and the videos play fine on Windows Media Player, however I am getting more and more of theses with VDJ: ERROR: FILE IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN! I get no other details from VDJ. All videos are MP4 codec. The thing I am frustrated with is I have a friend who is also a DJ and has the same videos and they play fine on his VDJ 6.05! I even had him try my hard drive with his VDJ 6.05 and the videos that did not play in my VDJ 6.05 PLAYED!! What's going on? I cannot figure it out. Anyone have ideas or fixes? I have not tried VDJ 6.07 yet and I HAVE tried reinstalling VDJ 6.05 but it doesn't fix my issue. How can they play using my friends VDJ and not mine? HELP!

lots of people having video issuses, so your not alone, ok

all depends on your setup and system.

try download reg tool from download centre, unistall VDJ with that as windows unistall is pooand leaves files i registry

then reinsatall VDJ , find latest direct x and latest video driver for your computer and latest bios driver also if you can

make sure they are the right ones for your system setup only or else your could have bigger prolems if you install the wrong ones so double check

also have you tryed installing quicktime as that has correct codec for all mp4s that VDJ can use to play mp4 videos?

see how you get on

hope this helps

Sounds like a codec problem.

have you tried changing your .mp4 setting in VDJ to using windows media decoder?

is quicktime installed?

I do have quick time installed, but the quick time codec is not listed under codecs on VDJ. All my music files that are not playing are MP4 format and that codec IS installed, so I am not sure how that would make a difference.

Rob12345, I am having difficulty understanding what you are suggesting me to do.

I've tried everything suggested and I have no changes. I still have numerous new videos I cannot play and get ERROR: IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN!!
WTF?!?

Hey all,

I have tried all of your suggestions, renaming, relocating to a different folder and still have no changes. I have tried using a different codec, tried updating quicktime and my DirectX, but nothing helped with getting these video files to play. Only about 10 files will not play while others will. What else can I do?

GSpot..
used to look at video files and can also tell you what codecs are on your computer.

Use the above tool to take at look at your video files.

It will also tell you what codecs are installed, and will attempt to open them (using its player or windows media player).

Thanks to everyone's input. I tried everything and decided to try using the downloader provided by 8th wonder. I had downloaded several videos when 8th wonder was down during the merge and turns out, something wasn't right with the downloads they provided through sharing sites they used while the system was down. After downloading through the downloader, the videos work fine, so the codec must have been messed up and VDJ didn't like what it was seeing/reading.
