Hello All, I am using VdJ on my laptop which has a creative sound card,I then put this into one of the line In's of my mixer and plug the mics into the mic inputs of my mixer which then goes to my power amp all fairly standard I would have thought. I am using it for Karaoke, what is the best way of getting the vocals into the mix so that I can record it,I am loath to insert the computer between the mixer because they have balanced connections

The best way is to run a suitable cable (Typically 2x RCA phono to 3.5" headphone jack) from the REC OUT of your mixer to the line input of your computer's sound card. You can then choose line in as the recording source so that it records the sound being output by the external mixer (Including the mics)

Thanks I'll try that, I did think of doing it that way before but wondered if it would cause a feedback loop, so I presume in VDJ the line in is not routed to main or rec out
