Hi guys i packed up djing a couple of months ago due to clubs and bar owners paying next to nothing nowadays.
But since i packed up and sold all my gear and i meen everything i have had loads of people coming to me and ringing me for private function partys.
I also use to do these before and could charge £100-£120 per night for this which is quite a good little earner.
So i am thinking of getting a rmx for use for these functions or maybe omni control.
I am mainly looking at the rmx as it can be rack mounted with the brackets into a flight case
My questions are.
1. Does it work well with vdj 6.
2. is the built in sound card asio
3. do the pitch sliders lock at 0% (by this i meen when you move them can you feel a little click at 0%)
4. how load is the headphone output.

I'll have had my RMX two years this summer. It's done everything I ever asked of it and more. It's supported my through mobile, club, garden parties and even corporate events!!!
In answer to your specific questions:
1. Worls perfect with 6.0.5 for audio. Have limited experience with video but it did work when I played a few vids.
2. Yes soundcard is ASIO, and the Hercules control panel allows you to switch between WDM and ASIO
3. Yes there is a click at 0%
4. Headphone output is good and well as the PFM!
Now for further info:
* Mic input is NAF. There is no tone control and you sacrifice one of your external inputs.
* It is purely a MIDI controller, there is no mixer capability via the external inputs should the software fail. So you need a backup.
I started out by using a little Behringer Xenyx 1204FX (Clicky). I used the mic inputs and balanced input for the RMX and then from there to the amp. Worked really well. I wouldn't have changed except for the fact that I needed a backup to the RMX. I started with a twin SD card player (Clicky) as I did not see the point in investing in CD players when I am 100% MP3. This worked great but was a bit cumbersome with the Xenyx as I could not use the external inputs on the RMX (re no mixer support).
And seeign as you sold all your gear, I doubt you have a CD player to fall back on, so maybe an SD solution would suit you as well...
I ended up buying an American Audio Q-SD (Clicky) which is a 4 channel mixer, with two good quality mic inputs and a built in SD card player which can be assigned to any channel. I now have the RMX flight cased and use it with the Q-SD in external mixer mode. This means I can switch to the SD card player at any time while troubleshooting the problem. However to date the only time I have needed to fire up the SD card player is when I've forgotten to plug in the laptop and run the battery flat!!!
Here's a pic of my flight case setup - With rackmount ears (Clicky) as well. The flight case is a Kam Kase CD19PC (Clicky).
With this setup I have disabled the crossfader in VDJ for audio as I use the crossfader on the mixer. This leaves the RMX crossfader free for video ;-)
One final thing. You may want to look at the new American Audio VMS4 - This is a full mixer with digital capabilities (Forum Clicky 1, Forum Clicky 2). This would negate you haviing to buy a seperate mixer for mic input, however you would still need a backup solution.
Knowing AA, I'm certain there will be an update to this mixer in the future that will include USB and/or SD which would make it my perfect solution. Until then I'm happy with my RMX setup.
