Topic: Curious about Timecode vinyl and virtual dj

Just had a question on timecode vinyl and VDJ. I have a hercules RMX unit and plan on hooking two turntables eventually up to it. Being that I already have the vdj software running through the tables and the tables would be running through the RMX unit would i still need to buy the timecode vinyl with the box and everything or can i just get the vinyl?

do you mean like a trim or a sepearate soundcard...if so no...cuz currently im running my tt thru rmx and vinly only ....

you need turntables + timecoded vinyls. your setup would be like this...

my setup is just as shown on that diagram, my question though is to spin with the actual tables digitally do i need anything other than the timecoded vinyl or do i need the entire timecode vinyl kit that comes with the box and software?

You can use whatever soundcard (that has 2 stereo line inputs and 2 stereo line outputs (4 ins 4 outs) to be use as an audio timecode interfase with VirtualDJ.

So you can use the RMX as your sound card for timecodes or a Hercules DJ Trim 4x6 or ESI U46DJ or RME RPM or others to do that job. The main block connection is like the picture above, so basically is all you may need.

I prefer to buy separate and I use Echo AudioFire 4, VirtualDJ Timecodes and VirtualDJ pro. But also can use My Hercules RMX, or Serato Timecodes too.

So it's up to you want you want, VirtualDJ is verasatil to let you use what you like to use.

to answer your question plainly,

yes! all you need is the timecode.

you can use vdj, serato, m torq etc. vinyls theyre all the same.

just buy the vinyl, slap em on your platters and away you go.

sweet thanks so much guys appreciate it!
