Topic: Buying new equipment with VDJ 6.05-Need Advice on recommendations/setup

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

I'm switching my DJing from Numark's iDJ2 to my laptop. I've decided on VDJ and want to purchase equipment with budget around $1,000 for now. I though about the Hercules RMX, but doesn't look pro enough. I've been looking at the Pioneer VDJ400--does VDJ work out of the box by downloading one of the skins? Does anyone know of any issues with this setup--recommendations?

Thanks,
Lady DJ Jean

vdj does work out of the box. U do not have to have a controller to run it. There are so many ways to run your dj set up. look around the board topics here and you will see the many different setups out there. You can downlaod the trial version and play around with it just to get an idea. you cant downlaod any skins until you purchase the basic version or the pro version. you can read the post that tells you what the basic and the pro versions offer. good luck and you will love vdj just as we all do.

For 1000USD I would purchase an RMX, from Hercules. It comes with an LE version of VDJ which, offers a discount to upgrade to PRO. That would leave you around 500USD for other pieces of hard ware you might need (headphones, hard drives, EQs...ec. ect. ect.).

Pioneer CDJ-400 are supported by VirtualDJ Profesisonal v6 and will work without needing anything extra. All you need to do is plug them into your computer, put them into MIDI mode and then start VDJ and they will be automatically detected.

You don't need a Pioneer CDJ-400 skin to make them work - Any skin of your choice can be used (It has no effect on external MIDI controllers and vice-versa.)

I have CDJ 400's and am very happy with them but I'd also suggest a midi mixer also to control crossfader or anything depending on how you map it. Just bought the Xsession Pro and it is ok for the price. I wanted to be able to control the jog wheels and crossfader. Only problem I have is the sound setup. CDJ's act as sound cards, Xsession doesnt. Actually
I'd check out that Numark mixer on the VDJ products/equipment page for $200. It is midi and the only one I've seen at a reasonable starting price.

I got the RMX 3 days ago and so far so good!

RMX A++++++++ best bang for the buck

I have CDJ-400s and a DJM-800 mixer but you will not be able to buy 2 CDJ-400s, a mixer and VDJ for under $2000 new. My 21 year old son uses the RMX and it is great. I just did a New Years Eve party using his RMX, all I had to do was bring my laptop and hard drives and he had everything else including an awesome Bose L1 speaker system. At first I didn't think I would be comfortable going from my Pioneer system to his RMX but it was a great DJ tool and would recommend it to anyone.

I have a close friend and professional DJ colleague who is also a member here (DJ Advise/Mauro) who has been a DJ since 1976. He uses the RMX exclusively for all of his gigs, he is an old school DJ like me who has used just about every piece of equipment out there and he swears by his RMX.

So I would say obviously get an RMX, that there is nothing cheap about it despite it's relatively low price. It truly is a bargain for what it does...
