Topic: 2.1 Freeze Bug

Sometimes when I close VDJ under 2.1 the screen freezes once the "saving database" message pops up.

There is no way to shut down VDJ at this point, not even with CTRL-ALT-DEL and killing the process.

The only way is to reboot.

I don't know how to reproduce this, but it has happenned twice to me already, and only when I close VDJ.

The saving database may take anywhere from just a few seconds, to several minutes to complete. Don't be too anxious to shut it down. Let it finish up on it's own.
 
Ok... but this was with all ID3/database options set to off ;-)
 
VDJ must still write to it's data base after every session, especially if you have analysed a lot of files, or played files that haven't been played before...
 
That's why you can you use the shortcut "savedatabase()" sometimes when vdj is open to speed vdj closing
 
The "saving database" database message is something we asked for, i love it ...!
Its an important proccess (when saving) and must not interrupted.
Djcel, is this a new shortcut, i didnt noticed that, cool. I asked for something like this too.
 
Yes you can use this function by a shortcut.

I use Ctrl+S with the 2 new actions:
* savedatabase()
* saveregistryconfig()
 
Very usefull, i'll do the same ...if i find a free key ...or combination of.. left on my keyboard...
