Is the new jog mode option in the options menu for timecode only or does it have any effect on midi players like the Denon DN-HS5500's ???

Its not for timecode... its for midi controllers only..
And yes it has an effect..
If the mapper is set to scratch when song is playing, you can turn off this behavior, by choosing CD mode in options.
