OK,
Got some vids, tagged them and loaded them into VDJ. Had a quick play with the settings and:
* got SlideShow as my effect for playing audio only tracks, which is pointing a folder with my full screen logo as the only image
* Have linked the video and audio crossfader and turned off "automatic" for video fader
My Gateway Laptop is running Vista Home Premium and has 4Gb RAM (ready for 64-Bit upgrade at some point)
My first impressions were - Wow!!! No juddery images, sound was in sync and looked great on my 52" Samsung ;-)
So looks like th hardware is up to it...
So first question:
I'm guessing that the video and audio crossfaders are seperated so you can beatmatch your videos first, start the mix in audio only and then drop the video at the desired point. If this is correct, then I completely understand why as having the linked crossfader halfway for the start of the mix leaves the audience looking at a half finshed transition with one track paused with the live track playing in the background... Not good.
Plus you don't realise this until you VJ for the first time ;-)
Have I got this correct?
If so, as I am using my RMX in external mixer mode, this leaves my RMX crossfader free. So would like to know if I could assign that to the video crossfader...
