Hi dannyboy2005
I\'m using an mk2 controller my confg. setting in VDJ are set as per the image below.
You do hear the two decks through your headphones at first, this is what I did to fix it.
1. Find your headphone selector to switch between Split, Mix, Deck A & Deck B.
2. Start playing one deck, you should hear it through your headphones.
3. Now select a file on your browser, right click and choose preview.
4. Start switching back and forth the headphone selector knob till it clears the deck music.
5. You should only hear the preview song playing and not the deck music.
6. Select Mix so you get the sound through both left & right phones from the preview.
7. If you get Pop\'s and cracking noises, go to confg. Performances Tab.
8. Select Latency under \"Sound Card\" and set it to 2048.
9. Check the box Overclock, then click OK to save your settings.
Let me know if this works for you.

Thanks for your help, BUT i got no sound though the head phones while previewing.
Someone said about connecting the subwoofer dirrectly to the RMX? I can do this but the subwoofer has 3 cables (That should go from PC to the sub, all these are needed for the sound) but on the back of the RMX, it only has 2 jacks for "Output 1-2 / +4DBU" and 2 jaks for "output 3-4/ +4DBU"
Should i connect the 3 cables that plug into the sub into these?
Thanks for all your help guys, very much appriciated!!!

Hi dannyboy2005
Wow
I don't have an RMX to help you with this, I only have an MK2 made by the same manufacturere so, are you sure you tried all the steps I outlined for you?
I know they worked for me.
I would give it another go at it and tinker around with the controls and settings that's how I stumbled into finding a solution with mine.
One more thing check to see if there's a new update for drivers.

NO you should not. These cables provide seperate feeds to Front LR rear LR and your sub.
Your surround system is manufactured to work with the type of multi channel sound card you have in your PC. The sound is split up by your Creative Labs software and sound card to provide the correct signals to the various speakers in the system. YOU SHOULD NOT just plug them in anywhere as this can cause damage, mainly to the small satalite speakers which will be damaged if they are fed with the low bass sounds intended for the subwoofer.
Please try the method I mentioned before , IT Works. Get hold of a cable that will let you connect the output from the RMX outputs 1 and 2 to the line in on your creative card. You can also use Creatives wav editor to record your mixes this way (as an alternative to the record function on VDJ).
Or look at getting a pair of active monitors which will plug strait into your RMX

Dannyboy, can't you just run a RCA cable from output 1&2 of the RMX to a spare input channel of a home amp/stereo system. It's a hell of alot simply.
Or do you need to use your PC speakers
*ignore this, just seen you have got it sorted*

I second the comment. I bought the Rmx due to the built in sound card. I think his problem is that he has now powered speakers. So he can't use the RmX sound card he is using just some basic computer speakers.....Home use not pro use.....Good luck man....

This is where i connected the head phones, my settings are still the same as in the original screen shot. I hope this can help users i the future with the same problem.
As far as i'm aware its time to /thread, although i'm still not sure if your supposed to hear music from one side of the head phone or not?
Thanks for all your help guys, thank you very much.
Dan

Glad to here you have managed to find a solution that suits you.
BTW the headphone signal will only be mono from that jack. Be carefull with the headphones you use as they need to be fairly high impedence units . The jack you have plugged into is not designed to drive headphone loads so go easy on the volume or you could damage your unit.
happy mixing

You better should use the headphone jack, NOT the line ot with an 6,3 adapter. You just get only the left or right channel (because only one plug / Mono).
You can damage your headphone. And the connector is not correct because you do not can use stereo plugs in mono. Thats everytime a problem.
I think the correct one s on the front side ?

A little knowledge goes a long way.
When using VDJ in "2 cards" mode, it uses the first output pair of each card, in this case, the front output of the onboard card and Output 1/2 of the Rmx.
As the Headphone ouput of the Rmx is linked to Ouput 3/4, it is obvious that no signal will be heard. The reason the "2 cards" can work with the Mk2 is that the headphone selector is different.

WTF... If you can plug a jack in to the output at the bacl why can't you plug it in to the headphione jack? There's two 1 on top and 1 on the front.
You are plugging in to one channel of a balanced output that is meant to go to a mixer... Your only getting mono because of this.
You should also find that you are only getting the output mix and not the cue...

Hi Gadget
"WTF... If you can plug a jack in to the output at the bacl why can't you plug it in to the headphione jack? There's two 1 on top and 1 on the front".
The reason for this is that the outputs 3/4 are linked to the headphone system, they provide a signal to the headphone amplifier in the RMX they are not directly connected to it. He is feeding the HP signal from VDJ to chan 1/2. Hence the HP volume control on the RMX will not work and niether will the sockets.
You wont damage your headphones by running them from the line out jacks on the back but you could damage the RMX if headphones which are too low impeadence are used. I suspect that using the RMX this way will also invalidate its waranty.
A little knowledge and all that.
Daz
Ps I think il'e help you push!

I'll put the rear screen heater on so your hands stay warm ;-)
For all this hassle, he got have bought a small pair of active monitor speakers such as these and had no issues whatsoever...
I use these as monitors for my mobile and the sound is awesome...
