Topic: Two seperate problems on this cheap computer

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Ok I am trying to install cue 6.02 and audio plays fine but everytime I load a video it just says error. When this happened to me in VDJ it was a codec problem, but I have the latest K-Lite Mega pack 5.1 installed....I have tried both the Video Decoder and the Windows Media Decoder settings.

Just for kicks I tried to install my VDJ 6.02. In VDJ the videos play fime when I have the hardware acceleration off (but I only get the fade transition, no other transition works) and when I turn hardware acceleration on all the transitions work but the videos keep flashing weird colors.

This is a cheap old shuttle x, pentium 4, 2.8mgz with 2 gig ram and a NVIDIA 7600gs with 512ddr2 memory (AGP 8x). I have the august 2009 release of direct x 9.0c and windows 11 installed (xp sp3 + all updates as of tonight).

I know these are very poor specs but my friend can't afford to upgrade right now. Anybidy have any idea how to fix either of these problems?....preferably the original CUE problem.

By the way, these are standard mpg2 videos at 720x480 res and they play flawlessly in my 2 computers with vdj. I have no problem with mp4 files.

This is the file details from "Media Info" program

Update: When in Automix mode and harware acceleration is on they both run the video flawlessly (although CUE still won't load my mpg2 videos).

I really don't ubderstand why my mpg2 videos work in VDJ 6.02 and not on CUE 6.02 on the same machine? I thought the program internally was the same?

Anybody, Bueller, Bueller, Bueller?

No one has experienced these problems? A little help please, can't do a show with all the videos looking like Warhol art!

Teamers, at least explain to me why some videos will play in VDJ and not CUE on the exact same machine with the exact same settings, and if possible how to get CUE to play them.

I don't know, but maybe there is a conflict between the two programs. Tell me why you have to have both on the same "cheap" computer. What happens if you completely remove Cue, and just use VDJ from a fresh install, or the other way around? And what's with all this codec stuff? I have only used what comes with VDJ, and have never had a problem, even with a computer with less specs than yours.

There is no conflict between the two programs as I had only installed CUE when I discovered the problems. I only installed VDJ to test it on his computer as I knoew it worked fine on my two.

I initially installed his CUE (he doesn't own VDJ, that's what I use). When I was having problems with CUE showing weird colors and CUE was not reading my videos I was using to test the program with I got curious because I have no problem with them on either of my computers running VDJ...so I installed VDJ on his computer to test and see if it was in fact a CUE problem or a computer problem.

The weird colors and all the transitions working when using hardware acceleration, no weird colors but no transitions working except the fade when there is no harware acceleration on I am assuming are either a settings problem, a computer problem or a windows problem since they are common to both programs with the same setting and config.

What leads me to believe I may have some settings wrong or maybe missed something is that when the playlist is playing through autoplay and hardware acceleration is on I have no problem with the transitions or the weird colors (only when I am using both decks to mix).

The part that is really weird to me since I was told the programs are essentially identical is why my videos work on VDJ but not on CUE...this makes me thing again I missed a setting, or the programs aren't as exact as we have been told. I'm not too concerned (more curious now) about that as he won't be using my videos and whatever program he is using to rip he will just continue to use.

My main concern is fixing the weird colors when mixing between the two decks in CUE so he will have full use of the transitions....or getting the transitions to work with hardware acceleration off.

I know they are supposed to be the same, but maybe Cue has some differences that Numark added or deleted. Having said that, if your videos work in VDJ, they should work in Cue. I don't use Cue, but have you tried a complete fresh install of Cue, including a fresh download? Make sure you clean the registry also. I know that this has helped me with little issues with VDJ.

They obviously aren't exactly the same binary build; I would guess a bug could have creeped into the Numark release during it's development and testing phase.

I assume you've contacted Numark support and asked them about the issue? What did they say?

I did send them a couple emails and have had no response yet.....as I said my videos not playing in CUE is not an issue really, more of a curiousity as he will not be using my videos.

My real problem is why I get the weird colors work with hardware acceleration on in manual mix mode, but everything is fine in autoplay mode?

Also why do the weird colors problem dissapear but the transitions quit working with hardware acceleration off?

Any Teamers out there? I know there are a lot of computer gurus out there....anybody know what is causing the weird colors when I have hardware acceleration on?
