Just wondering from you veteran DJs if I should join a DJ record pool? If yes, are there any recommendations?

i belong to www.latinosunidosonline.com

they offer digital LEGAL record pool and the music is on 2 dvds ripped, tagged, gained, bpm'd

i joined a record pool once but somebody pee'd in it.

we pretty much stick with promo only, but occasionally go out and buy stuff.

The Y.M.C.A. might be cheaper...wait.. record pool. Sorry I misread. I belong to something similar. They can be good, or they can be a waste of money. Do your homework to see where the ones your looking at fall.

What kind of record pool are you looking for...an online pool or a real record pool where you get physical promos?

www.dancekings.com (tell Dan that Jay sent ya) - it's a real pool with physical promos shipped and offer some releases online
www.zipdj.com (tell Kevin that Jay in New Orleans sent ya) - is an online pool with a great selection.

FEEDBACK and CHARTS is a requirement of both pools. Your chart is based on the music you received through the pool.

Starfleet Music is another online pool. www.starfleetmusic.com. Randy Matthews is the contact there.

8thwondercdpool.com is a good bang for your buck. Only $9.99/month. Unlimited downloads of music, remixes in mp3 and video, good quality videos.

If you are serious about what you do then a record pool would make sense, because they provide a good source for getting new music. Just research the different pools before you join.

I am a member of 8th wonder record pool and i am satisfied. For 10 bucks a month, you can't complain. The best part of it.. Music videos are included too...

Thanks for the advice. I will check out all those mentioned.

I heard that on some of these you can actually get a bit ahead of the radio stations. Is that true?

I joined ZipDJ and love it. And yes I get a lot that is ahead of the radio, in my area anyways.

Well, where is YOUR area, however?
I'm in the Northeast, USA. Maine.

Plattsburgh, NY in the Adirondack Mountains. ZipDJ also keeps current on Country music and that helps me out a lot here. A lot of the other DJ mix sites I've looked into do not offer country at all or they have 2 or 3 tracks to choose from. They update new tracks daily. A lot of tracks you can choose from different mixed versions and you can preview everything before downloadeding it.

bryantpb - I'm in Bangor, Maine!!! I'm just a rookie who is starting to purchase my equipment - so far, my laptop and Maya44 soundcard. Just trying to learn the ropes. Giving myself a year to get my stuff together. Anyways, I'm gonna join the 8th Wonder DJ Records Pool. Thanks for all the advice.

I used to be a member of 8th wonder but actually found something much better. I am now a member of https://www.djcity.com they charge 90 for 3 months and charge at once. The ID3 tags are clean and properly edited, they offer remixes, clean, dirty, mash-ups and transitions. Also, they offer all genres from latin, reggae, hip-hop, dance, and top 40. Definitely check them out, probably the best record pool I have seen.

Can you stay a bit ahead of hot new radio releases and are clean versions available in most cases.

Video DJ,

Hi all,

I'd like to get some video effects to download and play but don't know where i can get them. Using VDJ 6.0 pro. Also, is there a way to synch a song to a video, so that everytime you play the song, the video will also show?

www.LatinosUnidosOnline.com offers for $50 a month 2 dvds full of mp3s tagged,bpm,gain seperated by genres (salsa,merengue,bachata,tipico,cumbia,vallenato,tex mex,latin house,latin pop,remixes,reggaeton,acapellas,instrumentals,hip hop,r&b,reggae,house,baladas & spanish rock)

they also offer a monthly dvd with mpg4 videos tagged for virtual dj and serato for $10.

How current do they keep up? I noticed they did not even have "Empire State Of Mind" in yet. I had a request for this at a wedding and the guy said he had had it at home for two weeks, and also noticed it on the other pools listed being in three weeks ago. Sheesh. Another guy said he got it on limewire two weeks ago, sheesh again. If a shit site like that can get it to anyone , and this pool doesn't even have it yet?

Am I missing something ?
