Hello, i'm still using my mk2 controller from like 3 years ago since new. Although i was wondering if i could customize the mapping for channel faders. I wanted to use 2 of the rotary knobs for fading channel 1 & 2. I'm not sure how it would respond, but wondered if it could be done?

Yes and no...
Yes it can be done super easily in VDJ 6. But you would have to upgrade to this version then.
You can upgrade with a huge discount since you have Hercules.

And no, you can not in your version of VDJ (the free console edition) as far as I know.

But I dont think its for your version.

I think you can change it in the Hercules control panel. Iam not shure. You can have the faders as pitch sliders and rotary knob as faders.
