Hi. I ve bought Native instruments Audio 2Dj sound card to run with Cue. The problem is that every so often the program freezes for a second then resumes. I didnt get these probs with the DJ I/O. Could any one tell me the best set up for this soundcard and what the problem could be?! Also get a small crackle! like a slight vinyl effect! I have got all the latest drivers and reinstalled everything!
I have a toshiba L300d, Intel dual core, 160gb HD 3GB Ram

can you tell us which is the setting of your sound card?
 
Cue settings.
presets: Fastest
Latency: Auto
Safe mode, Overclock are unchecked.

inputs: none
Outouts: Headphones
Sound Card: ASIO driver
ASIO Driver Audio2dj
Output Channels: Master Channel 1 & 2
Headphones Channel 3 & 4

NI Audio 2 Dj Settings

Presets: Low Latency (Medium CPU Usage situation)

Sample Rate: 44100.

Ive fiddled with all these, with no luck!
 
Do you have key_lock feature on?

Put that off and let me know the result.
 
No keylock on!
 
Now try to put in OPTION the field MAX LOAD on NONE.
 
Done that. Still glitches!

Probably you can have latency issues.

Let us know if you get red bars.

If you get no red bars, you can tell us how much is the value of file paging inside Task Manager of your Windows XP/VISTA.
 
Get red bars every 15-20 secs. No more or less if I use cue or any other program. Have disabled things like network adapters, wifi, CD drives.
 
Try to change the USB port of your sound card.

Do you have other external devices plugged to your computer in?

Can you answer at my question about Task Manager too?
 
I think it says Page File: 1160/5876.
Cue still freezes for a second with soundcard plugged into other USB, with no external devices being used.
 
The memory used is very little compare the amount of your computer.

The last thing I can suggest you is to change the setting of your sound card: try to put standard performance or something higher.

since they can analyze better your issue.
 
Try user define setting in Audio8 DJ Control Panel, in this case Audio2 DJ.
Set USB Buffersize to 1 and Audio Buffersize to 12.
I'm using that set-up with my Advance master tempo set to 3/0 without any glitches, while soundcard Latency being set to Auto with Preset on the 3rd level to the quality. Vista
If you don't scratch you can try that setting but if you do scratching raise the Audio Buffersize until glitches gone.
Put away your A2 faraway from any electronic equipments like mixers and amps or even you computer. Your cellphone also should be placed faraway from your soundcard.
Most importantly you should have the purist power supply feeding to your system. Unlike DJIO or VV, those are not so sensitive to power hiccups.
I would suggest you need to put ground loop isolator on you powerstrip.

Checked the above settings out, still no joy. If I maximise the Cue window to full screen I get a distortion when its expanding and also when I minimize it as well! I set the audio buffer size to 64ms which seemed to stop this, dunno if this info will help? Not too worried about the little pops and crackles, but would like to stop cue from freezing for a second, when something is being done, eg, loading another track or even just moving the mouse!

Try to use the 1024x768 default skin without maximizing that and tell us what you get.

You have WindowsXP, don't you?
 
Hi. I usually use the the default skin (internal mixer interface). Still have the problem. I have windows vista!

Run DPC latency checker and see if your system doesn't have spike issue without your A2 connected.
If it does then you need to do some tweaks on you system. Dig in to some post regarding on vista system tweaks.
