so i want to do some mixing without having to hook up all my shit cuz i'm at an apartment.

i'm trying to make it so i can use headphones while all i need is my laptop headphones and my stereo...

i bought a single stereo plug to red and white rca cable to hook into the headphones jack, i bought an rca female to stereo mini female for the headphones which i hooked to the white plug and i hooked the red plug into my stereo.

it all works properly except when i have the PFL set for the headphones i can hear it out of my headphones but the speakers as well and the crossfader/volume does nothing.

and also... whenever i put a new song up or spin the record on the non PFL selected side... it automatically switches the PFL to the other deck.

if somebody could help me with this that would be great! thanks

As long as you have the stereo and headphones coming out of the same jack of the laptop (ie the headphones laptop) the software does not recognize any devices beyond that 1 port. You would need a sound card like a DJIO or Audio 8 that has a master out (RCA) and Headphone 1/4" that has the ability to work with VDJ/Cue to route the sound appropriately.

I have pretty much the same problem. May I use a USB sound card for the same cause? I mean will the program recognize it?
