由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

this has happened many times before and im looking for a quick solution

i scan all my music files that are on an external hd for bpm info, then all this info is saved and when i load up vdj everytime after that all this information is still available, but every once in a while i load up vdj and the information is gone and i have to scan my files again, this wouldnt be a problem except that it takes quite a while to scan all my tracks, and i rely heavely on bpm info, i try to disconnect and reconnect the hd and i also scan, clean and fix the drive but it still the information is lost,is there a way to remedy this? like i said this has happened many times and this is just the time i decided to ask because i really dont wanna have to scan all my files every 2 weeks or so

any response is appreciated

I am betting that the drive letter changed........

If your running XP its not hard to change the drive extension. Go to Start -> Run and type "diskmgmt.msc"

From there, if you right click on the drive you want to change, there will be an option for "change drive letter and paths". Select the drive letter you remember, use capitol letters, and you should be OK.

im actually using vista and checked to see if i could change the drive like in xp but i dont think i can,is there another way to go about changing this? also how can i tell if the drive changed? i was g: before and its g: now, and i always use the same usb port

If its G now and was G, that is not the problem.
Look on your music drive and make sure you also copied the VirtualDJ Local Database v6.xml file along with the music.
It should be located at the root of the drive.

yes i have version 6 database

Not sure why this happens, but I also have experienced where my BPM's seem to have dissappeared on more than one occasion. Thought I would have to rescan them, but I shut everything down, restarted laptop and rehooked, rebooted the external drive & BPM's were all there again. No need to rescan. (what a relief lol)

Hope that might solve the issue like it did for me.
