Topic: Who want's to see TC v4 Engine back? - Page: 1

由于该帖子的部分内容已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Who wants to see Time Code Engine Version 4 back on the next update? The same engine that was given with version 5.0.7, which I believe was engine 4. Who's with me on this? Why not bring something back that ALWAYS worked great? Just like the saying, "don't fix something that's not broken." This topic is for time code users. If you do not understand what this means, then do not comment on this thread.

VDJ users should have the option to choose which engine they prefer. Just the same way users can choose, Serato, PCDJ, Torq and the long list of engines added on version 6.0. Why is engine 4 not on the list?

This is to the developers, PLEASE bring engine 4 back on the next update. Why is it hard to bring back your own flawless engine? It will solve alot of issues, such as drifting, cue drifiting, drifting while mixing etc. And you can run your external soundcard at lower latencey with no issues. Myself and others that I know, have tested this and works flawlessly. Can we make this possible?

long time my friend , and yes im with you on that "don't fix something that's not broken."

v5 timecode engine completely does not work with my Numark VV's. I can't use timecode. I'm going to buy Serato vinyls - first step towards buying Serato?

In a few days I will get sound card for timecoding and I will test that by my hands.

Reading opinions of other VDJ users, I catch Timecode is ignored from Dev team. VDJ is the best software but without a good Timecoding, VDJ can't do anything compared to Traktor and Serato.

If Dev Team get to go in this direction, a lot of users will abandon VDJ software (including me for sure).

This is my own personal opinion.

Amen to that.........

Timecode is most definately not ignored...

Theny why is engine 4 not on the list? It is THE MOST stable engine there is. VDJ users should have the option to use this engine. There is a long list of other engines, why not engine 4. I think it's definately ignored.

That's great SBDJ but I think there are not enough VIP members who can help Dev Team in releasing a stable version.

Actually, as you can see, users who are complaining about this feature are lower than VIP members who would have contributed in making better VDJ software but they couldn't because of their level in this community.

If they weren't listening they wouldn't be trying to improve the timecode engine and I'll tell you that timecode was extensively tested by vocal timecode users during the beta process...

Fine...they tested v5 and we don't like it, for obvious reasons. We just want to have a choice whether to use it or not.......that's all ;)

Exactly, why isn't VDJ giving their users choices of what they want to use? It's should be very easy for the dev. tem to add engine 4 to the already extensive list that they already have.

Well here's one, Me.

All though testing, the "new" timecode engine, (whatever version it may be now) performed well for me. Then all of a sudden about 4 weeks ago, it started to play up, and it hasn't been right since. Nothing had changed in my set up for months, at home or at the club. So I cant understand why. I've tried everything, but it still shit!!!

I believe there are so many variables and different setups with timecodes whether it's Vinyls or CD's that to pin point the fault is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack. The option of the V4 engine should have been left in the V6 update, so just in case any user who were or who are having difficulty in setting up their timeocdes in V6 could go straight back to the V4 engine. IMO giving the user another option is better than not giving it at all.

Hopefully the team will include the V4 engine in the next update, who knows, but I certainly hope so!!

I agree with you Jimmy, hopefully the dev. team puts engine 4 back in the list.

Amen

Timecode is the heart of a good dj software and it needs some work. I did some test to day just for fun after reading
some post here.

VDJ 3.4 on XP pro 32 bit timecode came out on top

VDJ 5.2.1 on XP pro 32 bit was next (timecode engine 4)

VDJ 5.2.1 on Vista 32 bit (timecode engine 4 and 5) came out about the same for me

VDJ 6 on XP pro 32 bit was not so good at times but it did have a good feel (sound keep going in and out)

VDJ 6 on Vista 32 bit was a damn joke I could not get the sound right and it had pops and all type of back
ground sound.

So for me the best was VDJ 3.4 on XP pro 32 bit but by that been a older version you may want to go with
VDJ 5.2.1 on XP pro 32 bit for the best feel. Some of this would be on Vista and latency all my test was done at 128
latency and (fast) with version 5 and 6 version 3.4 was at 128 to sound card M-Audio I did not try my Serato sound card
on this test. But I think I will soon.

XP laptop was Gateway m505 (Specifications) are here

http://support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/Gateway/M505/3501764sp42.shtml

Vista laptop was Gateway M-6850FX

PROCESSOR - Intel Pentium 2 Duo Mobile 1.83GHz
OPERATING SYSTEM - Windows Vista Ultimate (VDJ 5.2 Pro)
MEMORY - 3GB PC2-5300 DDR2
VIDEO CARD - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 XT (512MB GDDR3)

Other parts in test

2 Denon DN-S5000
Pioneer DJM-3000

That's what iI came up with I hope this could help someone out

COMPLETELY agree.

v5 timecode engine is crap. a simple backspin (from a cd deck nonetheless so don't say its needle skipping) yields garbage sound that has no tracking at all.

please give us back the ability to select to use the v4 engine

+1

I have been in tears since v3.4.

Tried everything, optimizing machine, new sound card, different sound card, nothing ...

No issue at all with my DN4500, but it's not the same excitement at all.

I thought v6 would bring the good news, but it gets frustrated more and more.

OK I Have a update

I just got my Pioneer CDJ1000MK3 from PSSL :) :) :)

syberman im with you now bro :)

But back to the test

All was the same with V3.4 and V5 but with V6 (Vista 32 bit , XP was the same) I don't know y but the timecode
did not work for me I tryed all types of things to get it to work as before. For me that's to much work for it to
still not be right

I agree some tweaking is still needed but i am not getting any drift like some of you guys claim. There has to be some common factor why some users do and some dont.

The backspin has been noted to be improved in near future update. (thats been known)

I have had drifting in some other versions but i was able to resolve it.
