Topic: preview skips

this is a problem i had for a while, when i have a track playing and i try to preview another track when i skip to a part in the preview it causes the playing track to skip a few times,this never bothered me because when i record the mix these skips dont end up in the mp3 when i listen to it,but if i want to play a live set,this would cause major problems with the music skipping all the time when im trying to preview the next track,i am using a laptop with a creative soundblaster external soundcard for the headpones,and the primary driver for the main sound,i havent futzed around wth any of the settings yet just cause im not sure what im doing,so any help anyone can give me with this isssue would be appreciated,also could this be my soundcard and could this be fixed with a soundcard upgrade,id rather find a way to eliminate this without a new soundcard but if that is the last option then i dont mind

This is a known issue with some PCs and sound cards. My desktop has always done this. The outgoing sound is OK, just the preview skips. I've just learned to live with it.

i think u might have misunderstood,my bad,when i have a track playing on deck one and i select a song to preview,the preview is playing and when i skip forward on the preview,the track playing on deck one skips till the preview catches up to the point of where i advanced it too,this is what im wondering if it is an issue with the soundcard or latency or some other issue like that
i appreciate the response
 
atomix is not able to fix it
i have the same issue to only answer you will get is live with that
or don't use the preview funktion

i have tested it with 3 pc/laptops and about 8 Soundcards (serato finalscratch soundblaster etc.) it always happen its just a bug in the audio code
