Topic: Who's watching the Michael Jackson memorial

Just watching the News coverage of the run to the memorial on the news shrouded with secrecy as the press can only speculate what 's planned and advising as it unfolds. Speculation is that the Golden Casket will be taken to the show according to both news media teams on Uk channels, not to sure if that's a good thing or morbid. Liz Taylor twittered that she won't attend what she discribed as a Hoopla of attention. Don't blame you Liz.

It has been confirmed that the Casket is to be the centre piece of the concert according to LA Police chief.

i'm done with the hype, and the over the top media coverage. he's dead people, drop him in the dirt and get off the "we miss michael so much!" bandwagon.
 
yup..Therres been ALOT of coverage of Micheal Jackson..Im at work and on every channel its him and they repeat all these tribute things for him..I dont know...its just something that doesnt need all of this.

Like it or not. History being made. Hype when Elvis passed and after nearly 32 years he still tops the charts .

Jackson has 16 songs in the UK Top 40, Man in the Mirror number two. Sales figures proves how popular the guy is in death, great shame not so in recent years.

Man I Do appreciate what your saying though, me always been a fan of Elvis's music.

I don't like the statement "drop him in the dirt" as I think that's disrespectful, but I agree with the sentiment that this is just a story for the media and they are raping it for all it's worth, we don't need to know half the details they are telling us, they are like leeches.

He made some great music yes..., but for me his death is no more significant than the last soldier to die in Afghanistan, sure it's a shocker seeing a huge icon dieing before his time, but after that shock reality should kick in for all those with minds of reason.

with all the major events that are going on right now ( more so in the usa ) why dose anyone care about a dead pop star?
he wasint doing much with his life anyways
no one here cares about the new carbon tax, or all the people dying in iran
shouldent the amaricans care about whats going on RIGHT NOW in afghanistan? i bet 80% or more have no damn clue, but i bet 95% could tell you that micheal jackson is dead
 
That is because he affected millions of people. His music transcended race, religion, gender. He gave a LOT to charity and helping children all over the world. He was more than just a musician. Not to mention that he his done things in music that will likely never be repeated. To compare him to an everyday person is just ludicrous. If you don't care about him, that is your prerogative, but there are plenty of people that do. My mother always taught me, if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all.

What pisses me off is that you ask a question and the thread gets hijacked, don't give a monkeys about climate change today . If our summers are like last week in the UK hot instead of the crap weather we are having this week then bring on climate change. Thats a idea never thought of being cremated when I pass.

Anyway whats carbon Tax ? If its gonna cost me more to go up in smoke, down the hole I will go.
