As the economy softens, Is it just me or are the con men coming out of the woodwork in ever increasing numbers?
It's like all the used car salesmen in North America got fired at the same time; and they all want my email and credit card info.

The Nigerian Scam is being re-packaged in various forms
I had a paypalS email saying their server crashed and they needed my information back as they had lost it. (funny thing is they sent it to the wrong email address and also misspelled paypal, they called it PAYPALS.
There are others, but I seem to be getting flooded with these types of email over the past 2-3 weeks.

That's the funny thing about such e-mails, they never look authentic due to spelling mistakes, poor grammer, or even just unusual English.

Any email asking you to update or log in to any account whether its Facebook, Youtube, VDJ , Bank, Ebay etc.... DON'T .
Always use the official links, not one sent to you via your email account unless you have requested with in minutes via the official sites.
I receive on a regular basis such emails inbox and spam which look official and even use the correct com link.
That also applies to clicking on links which pop up on your favourite sites. One of which I experienced on VDJ facebook.

I have fight over the years about spam... now I only put filters and feel normal if I only got 100 spam per day (I have 3000 in a time)
Always use official sites were you type the URL. Other thing to do is make an e-mail alias for those sites that may have public access, so your official e-mail only given by you to friends and persons really near you. But don't forget that any person that has your e-mail may not have any precautions and your e-mail could be on a large spam list now.
Be aware, and proceed with caution always. Also don't forget that spam over MSN that infect you to send messages to all your contact list just executing the link... ("I have funny pictures of you", " look this", etc.)

I got a similar email the other weak... Then I happend to look at this guys email address and it was a generic address. I'm thinking if your such a lawyer you would have a company email address with a phone number. Besides, I never recoved from trying to give to the free Willy fund. I couldn't resist the temptation, that DAMN wale sooo cute.
