Although I've been a member here for a while and have posted a time or two, I've never formally introduced myself. I'm CRash, a Nashville based DJ. Unlike most of you, I never set out to be a DJ, hence I'm the accidental DJ. My brother in law works at a place for handicapped adults and my mother-in-law became a chairperson of the parent group party committee. She asked if I could come and play some CDs for them so they could dance. Well, after many mishaps with their faulty equipment, one thing lead to another and soon I had my own DJ rig. I use VDJ on a Vaio with a Numark DMC2 and Numark C3USB. I've been hired a few times for paying gigs, but for the most part have not been successful playing out. I do play every Tuesday night at an internet based station, which competes with VDJ Radio, so I don't feel like I should advertise here.

So, thats enough about me. Good to meet all of you.

Welcome to the Grind! :)

CRashter,

Usually life put us in a way that make us what we can be... I have many jobs in my life, sometimes I found difficult to select one. But usually when you love what you do, life comes with a smile.

Welcome and great for you to could give joy to people.

well i might as well join in as i too have never really introduced myself,

im blulite (john) and im relitivley new to the world of dj'ing. i have dj'd previously as a bit of fun when i was younger but have only been into it in seriousness for about a year or 2. i started off using a set of really crud "home mix" cd decks that were pretty much neither use nor ornament. im now i am building myself a half decent setup which is slowly but surely improving and growing.

i would like to be able to scratch and do a good 5 hour set withoout the balls ups, so its practice practice practice when ever i find some spare time away from work, wife and kids... a set in a club would be awesome but i have a lot to learn before i expect to get anywhere near close to a booth. so all hints tips and creative criticisms are welcomed.. i think ill upload a few mix sessions to see what you all think. though i personally dont think they are all that good. i am into and prefer to dj happy hardcore, techno, hardcore and jumpstyle with the odd bit of makina here and there. not really everyones cup of tea but i do practice and mix other genres too.

as a guy who loves music "period" i only hope i can extend my listening to the extent that i can become as creative and skilled as some of my peers

anyway thats me, nice to meet every one and thanks for welcoming me to the community....

well welcome both of you that have officially introduced yourselves now, lol. I too use a DMC2 and a C3USB. I love it. I just recently made the transition to digital from CD, and before that I took an almost 10 year break from the world of DJing to pursue a life in production. back before I quit I had turntables. the DMC2 and the C3USB are making life SO much easier and make the learning curve so small honestly. anyways, good luck and keep 'em dancing.

I guess everyone is introducing themselves here.

I got into deejaying from my uncle. he was an old school freestyle DJ who used to play almost every weekend. as a poor little kid, he used to offer me some cash to help him set up at parties and carry all the records. I then fell in love with the music he played. I used to love the way he made the dance floor move. Every once in a while, he would let me play for a couple minutes while he went to the bathroom or go to the store. BOOM. after parties, I load the stuff and we take it back to his house. then I would unload the equipment and he let me mix for a while. Secretly, I became a better deejay by learning to mix by practicing but not in front of him....for which he really didn't have much skills in. One night, he got pretty buzzed and couldn't really get behind the tables so he let me. dude got a little jealous when people where saying they liked my mixing.

I have been deejaying since. doing house parties out here in southern cal and events.

Now, I play strictly for myself and family. I really do love music.
