guys what is the right screen resolution for using mini dvi with mac.seems only some sizes suit dvi and screen then seems a bit erratic when changing skins to try match thanks

This depends entirely of the screen you are connecting to your Mac.

The Mini-DVI connector itself doesn't dictate the available resolution(s). LCD and plasma panels all have a native resolution, in other words a fixed amount of pixels. This means that only single resolution is displayed 100% properly, and lower/higher resolutions are scaled to fit the screen.

For this reasons all other resulutions other than the native resolution of the screen will look a bit fuzzy.
 

yes thats what im getting on my lcd.so what pixels milions ect do i need to use thanks
 

That's impossible to say unless you tell the make and model of your LCD screen. That info can also be found from the manual of your LCD screen.
