Topic: Timecoding with Numark Cue

Ok, not sure if this is the right place to post. I know Cue is based on VDJ, so I thought it would be.

I am trying to timecode with a Numark HDX with Numark Cue 5.2.1 - I downloaded the VDJ timecodes (both regular and pro), and can control the songs by playing the platter. If I stop it with my hand, it seems to have the correct response, and everything seems fine, except:

1. Hitting the cue button acts more like a pause than actually a cue. Is that correct in how it should work? I was hoping that it would go back to the last place I cued at.

2. The keylock appears not to work. I don't touch it on the HDX, but inside the application, I set keylock, but adjusting the pitch does NOT lock the key of the song. This is very important because if I bump up or down the tempo at all, it sounds off. I also notice changing the pitch does NOT change the pitch control in cue, it just stays at the same place.

is there a setting I can get so that when I change the tempo of the song, it adjusts inside of cue? Just curious if anyone is using timecoding and how they are accomplishing basic stuff. For hot cue points, etc. I use a midi controller, so I am just looking to do basic things with the HDX to simulate cueing up the record, etc.

Thanks,
majestik

bump.

No one has any input on this one? I am new to timecoding, but you should be able to keylock that and change the tempo without altering the key, correct???

Thanks,

Hi there,

Which timecode mode are you using?

I would imagine absolute?
