Really Lovin 6.01, I have been holding out buying a new laptop but its time. I have had good success with an HP book for a couple yrs (xp, intel dou 1.9 hhz, 2 gigs ram ddr2, nivideo 7600 256 mb) I use the SL1 card for my audio out put, also timecodes & a hercules rmx. I do almost all video & use video effects all the time (slide shows, clip banks, showlogo etc..) I am very happy with my set up (controllers & Timecodes) i just know i am pushing my current computer beyond what it can handel. I am just looking for specs and ideas on what to get. I heard all the vista problems & i have never had a mac. I am thinking of doing a custom job with XP, what specs does anybody suggest. Keep in mind my current laptop & future laptop do nothing but dj. I don't mind spending to have it work perfect.

Hi Mate.
I know you want a laptop but do give some time to looking at a Rackmount PC that could be built to whatever spec you want. You can upgrade a PC far more easily and also get rid of some USB stuff like the external sound card. If you do a large amount of video work the range of top quality graphics cards available for a PC make optimising your video quality a dodle.
I also understand that a laptop is lighter and more portable but for pro work you just can't beat a dedicated PC.
