Topic: Pitch Reset Causes Artifacts

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Hi everyone,

I'm having a bit of a problem with the pitch/tempo reset (i.e. the 'Ctrl' + '*') function in VDJ6. If I start a song that is not at its normal tempo and then use that key combination to reset its tempo, I hear artifacts in the music until the tempo is reset. This only occurs when the keylock is engaged.

Initially I thought that it was some sort of soundcard performance issue, but what's strange is that if I move the pitch slider -- even to move it in order to reset its pitch -- there are no artifacts.

Could this still be a soundcard issue?

It could be your Performance settings to high for your soundcard's ability. What are your Performance tab settings and what card are you using?

Thanks for the response, Cstoll... I'm using the soundcard in my RMX and I've narrowed the problem down to my ASIO buffer size. I don't have a 5.2.1 install handy right now to do a direct comparison, but with 6.0, my buffer size has to be in the 20+ ms range to prevent the artifacts, whereas with previous versions, I've been able to use sub-10 ms buffer sizes, as low as 2ms or 4ms.

It's not a huge deal as I don't do a lot of fast scratching at all, but if there is a solution to this, I'd love to hear it.

I'm running it on Windows 7 64-bit.

Oh, and I'm also running the latest RMX drivers, so that can't be the issue.

This does not happen on 5.x

Does not happen if Keylock is turned off.

As much as I love master tempo and VDJ, VDJ's implementation leaves much to be desired.

With 6.0 and using tc engine v5 with cd's i have to raise my buffer 5x higher @ 512 (12ms) to prevent pops when I move the platter slow back and forth, specially when scratching. On 5.2 with tc engine v4 I was running my buffer @ 128 (2 ms) with no problems at all.
Vdj please bring back tc engine v4 on next update.....
