I'm stuck. How in the world do I get the HD2500 controller to work with vdj6?

It works just like normal with 5.2.1 but it won't perform the same with 6.0.

Am I doing something wrong? The club just bought this controller and sure would suck to not be able to use 6.0 with it.

I hit the reverse button on deck 1 with the controller and now I can't reset it. Hitting the reverse button on the controller doesn't effect the softwaee tellling deck 1 to start playing the song forward.

This is real screwy (frown).

What isn't working the same ? Got to be more specific ... is it not seen in V6 at all ? Is a feature not correctly working the way it previously did?

yea Chris...partically the essentials for djing.

Ill try and be specific.

Deck 1
load song. Hit play pause on controller. Song does not start.

Hit play button on software song starts, hit button on controller to pause, song keeps playing. Press cue button on controller, song goes back to first cue point and stops but again pressing play/pause button song does not start).

Press a1 to set loop in point. IN stays lit on software. Press B to set end point to begin loop. SOng keeps playing not looping.

Jog Wheel - doesn't function at all.

Effects on controller (echo/loop, flanger, filter) does not work.

Break on controller does not trigger break effect in software.

Dump on controller puts the song in reverse (only way to stop reverse is to exit software and restart it)

Reverse on controller does nothing on sotware.

Deck 2

The controller does nothing with deck 2 on the software side.

Is that detailed enough? :)

Again all of this works with 5.2.1 with the exception of the loops which was a1 sets in point and a2 set outpoint and started the loop. To exit the loop press "exit/reloop".

Well it's a good start ... I don't have the controller so I can only help from what is described ... Ok, let me think about these for a bit and see what I can come up with.

ok. I appreciate it. I will give the timecode a try in a bit. Right now I have a small dancefloor I need to make happy. :)

timecode works as usual...now to get the hd2500 singing. :)

I'm not sure if this matters but I just realized that the USB port on the 2500 I was using is the type a (I think...the cable plugged into the 2500 is not the flat usb but the other one) and the unit source was set to "midi" and not "pc".

I'm not sure if that helps any or not but thought I would mention it as I accidentally left that detail out last night.

if you aren't running the latest release (6.0.1) install it as it fixed most things with the controller. the one thing it did not fix is the jog wheel but it will work if you map it! It got left off the mapper for some reason.

Under mappers with the dn-hd2500 loaded click on the "new" key and then tell it "jog" from the pull down menu. the action is "jog_wheel". After you made the changes press "ok" box and then it should work.

thanks im gonna try but im sure i already try that.

Did you ever get the jog wheel working? I am having the same problem.
