Topic: Wedding Video DJs... Im curious,

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

When you play the bride and grooms 1st dance, Do you play the Music Video? I don't personally because I think all eyes should be on the bride and groom and not on my screens but I'm curious to find out if any vjs do and how they get on?

I can't remember the last time i did a wedding - maybe 8-9months ago. But i agree with you.

It would be inappropriate to distract attention away from the bride and groom on "their" dance.

Agreed with Dan. The only time videos are played at a wedding is when they specifically request it as part of the program, and it would come later on, maybe before the dancing begins or during the meal some time.

The video may be one of a slideshow of their life as they grew up (various pictures, etc.). I've made several of these for couples before.

I use the Camera Plugin and place the camera on the Couple.

Looks very nice on the projection screen with text on the bottom of the screen with "John and Jane doe **/**/2008"

Um, Marcel...not to throw water on your flame, um..but...ah..well, what if the couple has a different name than John and Jane Doe?

Not to mention that 2008 is sooooo last year ;)

We're probably not being helpful mate...

I've not done a wedding for a very long time, but if I did one now I would probably either use the camera plugin as Marcel says, or a picture/video clip. Failing all that, plain screen with a text banner...

John and Jane doe are the most popular names in North America.

Just look in any County Cemetary....

I have a few weddings per month with vids.
With the first dance I only play music. The people must focus their eyes on the bride and the bridegroom
After the first dance, I start with the vids.
Then you see a lot of people with their mouth far open.
They don´t expect the original vid but only the music.

If you start playing vids when people just arrive, then the suprise is gone.

thats the benefit of playing in amsterdam cafes anthony, jan & johan just never notice that 8ft x 8ft screen, until after the third cigarette.... lol

Tayla,

They don´t need a screen for vids as entertainment.
If we send you, the have the time of their live.

Jolly joker

:-)

I agree . It amazes me the amount of people that have never seen a video disco set up before? Where have they been?

Im all for educating people about Video DJs mainly coz I have really good Google ranking under the search term 'video dj' last look was 3rd out of 34,000,000. So they may not remember my company name but they may remember they saw a 'video dj'.

I have a Sony ptz live cam but never used it for a first dance. Great Idea.I don't run it through Virtual DJ I run it into a video Splitter/switcher and then into the screen. Does anyone use a cam through VDJ? or is it best to save the resources to playing music videos?

I actually have had some luck doing live video feeds. But my computer is prety fast too!

Intel Mini-ITX Motherboard DG45FC, Intel Core 2 Duo 3.16Ghz, 4GB Ram, (2) 1TB SATA HD, Audio 8 Soundcard, Traktor Scratch, 2 modified XP10 DJ Controllers (vinyl-touch CD scratch / jogs), Faderfox DJ2 Mixer, Traktor 3.4, Virtual DJ 5.2.1, DVI/VGA Video Out, Video Capture w/4 low lux bullet / pinhole cameras

Yes, but are they married or just buried in sin or did the stiffs even have time to consemate the marriage, just a thought .

About weddings:

These days we see more and more that people don't want a standard wedding.

Last week I had a wedding with a salsa workshop for an hour with all the guests.
That was really funny.

Also the first dance is not always standard but something like this:

Did this with a wedding but now I make my own mixes where people can make their own dance.
