I do all videos but some videos sound is not crisp in fact very distorted. I only narrowed it down to video/sound quality. I noticed that some songs are great sounding while other I have a hard time with gain and eqs. Most of my vids are MP4. I have sony vegas 6 which currently does not allow the video codec to be recognized. Is a there a pluging or program that wil allow me to edit the mp4 video so I can take out the bad audio and replace it.

I did see another thread talking about something similar but I didn't want to hijack it.

Upgrade to Sony 7, 8 or 9. They all support mp4 with the main concepts codec. If your existing mp4s are done with another codec you might want to convert them using the main concepts codec (or convert them to mpg) before putting them in Vegas. I have found if Vegas does not support a certain codec (such as the h264) it will leave blank frames in your video when you render it.

I usually take the audio from the cd or from a download pool such as work sessions or franchise record pool and replace the exisitng video soundtrack, although about 80% of the radio versions match the video sometimes it will take some editing when the versions don't match or when there is dialogs and such in the video.

I do all of my audio editing and "sweetening" in Adobe Audition and then import the track into Vegas and edit the video to match the audio...I have found that much easier then trying to match the audio to the video.....just me and the way my brain is wired for audio first.
