Topic: DJM-500 and Virtual DJ

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Heyya.

New to the whole computer to mix with, although I've mixed quite alot the "old fashion way".

I got a DJM-500 and 2xCDJ-100s that I'd like to try out using Virtual DJ, but I can't seem to find any schematics or guides on how to hook all this up to my computer for use with Virtual DJ.

So the question(s) are: Is it doable with the DJM-500 alone or do I need a midi-controller? And if doable without a midi-controller, could you please write a short summary on how to do it?

Any helpful inputs are appreciated.

First of all you need an external soundcard for timecoding.

Without that soundcard, you can't use VDJ with your sound system.

P.S: don't forget to register your VDJ serial number here:

Thank you for the fast reply.

Right now, I'm using the trial version to see if I do want to purchase it or not, so who knows? If I like it, I'll buy it. :)

In regards of the external soundcard, I believe you're trying to tell me that I'm just in need of two soundcards on my system for this to work?
If I go through with this, I'm most likely to build my own flight and incorporate a computer I got spare into the flight. Would a PCI-card do just the same?

What spesific inputs is it that the soundcard is required to have? 1 line-in or do I need more?

You need a multichannel soundcard like AUDIO 4 DJ, AUDIO 8 DJ, MAYA 44 USB, etc.

You can look for any information about these, on the web.

It's the same if you want to hook your turntubles up.

Thanks for the help.

Now, I just have to figure out where to get one of those soundcards here in Norway, hehe.

I am sure you will have fun with VDJ and such equipments ;)
