Topic: MacBook Pro running Windows XP & VDJ: Many Questions!

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Harware & Software:
MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Mac OS 10.5.6
WIndows XP Pro
Parallels Software 3.0
M-Audio Conectiv Soundcard
M-Audio Trigger Finger
(2) Pioneer CDJ1000
(1) DJM-909 Mixer

I'm on a MacBook Pro running XP with Virtual DJ (Demo).

My goal is to use this Mac hardware and run the PC version to get external control with my existing Pioneer CDJ-1000s. Whew...

First, where is the best place for me to post some basic setup questions? Being I'm on Apple hardware, using Parallels software (emulates a PC), with the PC demo (for now) version, I'm really lost as to where best to post my questions...is this (general) forum best?

Second,
Audio out: works, but I need the ability to cue, going to hookup my full system Thursday - and see if I can use my existing M-Audio Torq Conectiv sound card. I've heard it should work.??

Video:
For video mixing, I'll be connecting a monitor or projector to the Apple MacBook Pro video out: DVI port
For now (testing), I've connected my big screen TV to the DVI video out on the Mac. How do I get the "PC" and VDJ to see this 2nd monitor? Presently my Mac recognizes the 2nd monitor, but the PC does not. I think I need t set a Parallels setting...

Music Videos:
What's the best skin for mixing music videos? Is there one that will give me the (2) preview windows I need PLUS a 3rd one for showing what is on the 'floor' screen? I saw a skin used by another DJ that was just this - and perfect. 2 for cueing, 1 for the mix.

So many questions...my existing Mac formatted external hard drive...I need to test to see if VDJ will recognize the files I have on the drive, testing this Thursday as well. Should I use iTunes at all?

Any tips would be appreciated. I'm trying like crazy to get ready for an upcoming gig. And nothing motivates you like a deadline! Thanks again for any help.

Hi,

Instead of using an emulator, which drains the resources drastically, why don't you try to use Boot Camp from Apple to have Windows XP Pro running natively on the apple hardware (almost natively).

I have a 8 Core MacPro and it is working flawlessly.

Totally agree with gulker. I'm using it in the same way, with Boot Camp. Works perfect with Xp. Never had any problem with it. The only thing is that you choose the Os during boot. You don't have both system running at the same time as with parallels or similar emulators.
