Topic: Where can I find these in the U.S.?

Just an idea, could you not go to a metal works place and have some custom made for you? seeing the way the economy is, you might get a pretty good deal...
 
I do have some customers at my day job who fabricate..but if I can buy them ready made..it would save me time and money.
 
i would check the gross load weight of your speaker stands if anyone is going to use something like these brackets, don't want your kit doing a bambi on you... great idea, it will be cheaper to get a fabricator to do these for you terry.
 
Doubt it would be cheaper to bespoke but then they would prob be better, I'll end up doing this in the future thanks for the info.

The store is only 5 minutes from me, next time i'm in there I'll see if I can find the suppliers or distributors info for you.

charlie it would be cheaper, the boxed tube that is being used is pennies at the local blacksmiths, they run this sort of thing off in their tea breaks, and with the current economic climate it would be extra beer money for them.
 
Shipping from the UK to the US is not cheap. If a source in the states is not available Talya's suggestion of fabricating them is viable. Labor here for that type of work is not cheap either. I like the idea, and look, of these types of light stands. I was hoping someone here would know of a distributor here is the U.S. Never hurts to ask..... ;-)
 
I wish I could help. I LIKE the idea of having lights over speakers. Especially for smaller venues where I'm using tops only. I have mounted lights on top of speakers using duck tape (Yeah, REAL ghetto I Know). The brackets would work infinitely better.

Don't you go through bulbs like crazy doing that City? The vibration can't be easy on the filaments......

It's not a common practice and a RARELY used option. I ONLY do this in extreme cases (like when I need a very small light show, did not know beforehand that I would need a light show and did not bring a light stand).

I try VERY HARD not to use this method.

That is the site for the manufacturer. When I ordered from them they gave me an exchange rate for pricing and when I checked out they gave me a shipping price of over 100USD. That is the manufacturers site, in the UK. Thanks for trying..but still in the same boat :-(
 
they look chessy...............just my opinion
 
maybes so, but it's the application of them that can be of benefit especially if in a confined space, besides, your not going to see much of them when fitted or when the lights go down.

Not only will it be dark, the stands run behind the speaker. Camouflaging them well. In most venues I work the fewer stand used the better.

Gotta with you guys here. Think I'll be starting to look for some of these myself.
