Topic: Midi controllers-multiple configurations

由于该帖子已年深日久,可能包含陈旧过时或描述错误的信息。

Hi,

I had a few questions and i am hoping the most seasoned DJ's will be able to help me out.

I have the ddm4000, pretty much since it came out. I love the mixer, my sets sound clear, and crisp, the Fx are awesome....i just love it.
I know the issue about the crossfader, but i mix with the volume faders so i can deal with that. now here is the thing.

This is what i own:

herc mk2
2x cdj-100s
ddm4000
audio 8 dj sound card.
1 macbook
1 dell xps m1210
latest version of vdj on both mac and pc

my laptops are loaded to their best of their specs, max amount of ram, 7200 rpm hard drives, xp-vista-leopard on my machines. they pretty much can hold their own

The questions that i have are regarding midi combinations, more precisely having everything play along.
i have not been able to configure the midi functions on my mixer as i would want. but i credit that to my fault and not VDJ.
has anybody done:

a) the herc mk2 control the decs, and configure all the other functions on the ddm4000 or any other midi enabled mixer?
b) has anybody used the xone1D as their deck controllers connected through the ddm4000? do you plug them in directly to your pc with the usb and then use the midi In-out-thru of your ddm4000?

thank you for the help.

you might want to leave this over the weekend. a lot of the jocks are working fri sat sun. ive only managed to get a couple of diferent bits of midi kit working together by making sure they all play different midi notes and mapping them in the general midi section. not sure how to do it for them bits of kit but as i say leave it till after the weekend

simplify your setup by using the hecules console and cdjs only, thats what id do

well. the audio 8 from NI that i have gives you far better audio quality thant the mk2 built in sound card. Let alone the ddm4000 freq cross over handling is top notch as well. that is why i would like the mk2 to be just a midi controller, and work in cooperation with the midi from the ddm4000,

Well..i ran into some troubles with the setup of the mk2 and the ddm4000
as soon as i load a song on deck b with the mk2, the music stops as in the song still plays, but the is no audio.

i guess the mk2 tries to take control of the audio somehow, even though the audio 8 is selected as asio soundcard.

so for now, i will just try to use my cdj100s with the timecode cd, and control everything thru the ddm4000

now, my questions are the following:

how do i set up loops on the midi config? i want to try to do the same thing the mk2 does. meaning there is a button that lets you jump the loop beats. one to turn the looping on or off, and the other two, lets you adjust the beats of the loops.

any ideas?

thank you,
