Topic: Is Virtual DJ compatible with Numark NS7? - Page: 2

Numark do seem to have shot themselves in the foot here. What I can't understand is the relationship between Cue and VDJ. Surely if Cue was to get native support for the NS7 it would be the VDJ programmer that would add it. I doubt Numark are doing the programming themselves as Cue really is a rebranded version of VDJ in a box sold by Numark.

As I said above; this topic has been discussed over and over again. Its been well documented at all levels on this forum that things would have to change in VirtualDJ in order to support the NS7 controller. The fact that the controller has released before the changes have been put in place is out of our control. But the changes that are being put in place can support the needs of the NUMARK NS7.


So what Chris is really saying is that Numark jumped the gun and that VDJ6 will support the midi changes and have native support for the NS7, just not yet! (or am I making wild assumpions again ....)

Who said NS7 wouldnt be supported in next version of VDJ? ;)
It might, and wait and see..


 
Some how people believe that just because a manufacture releases a product that somehow - presto!! - the software should immediately be there waiting on it .... and for some reason people continue to look past the facts and only want to state their complaints because they can't have their ice cream with their cake.

So just to re-iterate again what has been posted several times about the NS7 ...

  • During the development of the NS7 the question was asked and the answer was -- that the current version of VirtualDJ would not FULLY support the NS7 because of the design methods used. And that 'some' limited capability might be achievable, but ALL would have to wait until the next VirtualDJ release for better support.
  • Numark consulted with Serato on the controller and it's primary software support was with ITCH. So, just like the rest of the software masses the development of support would have to wait until after the controller hit the market.
  • Since release people went out and bought because Numark decided to include as part of their ad campaigns that CUE would work with it. Well this is the VirtualDJ site and not the Numark CUE site and its a Numark piece of hardware - the complaining should be to them .. not here.
  • And, since the release and with all the questions we have continued to stress the first point made in this list .. but somehow everyone still doesn't get it.

Now, before anyone asks -- No there will not be published or answered the question of when. If you have noticed one of the stickies in this forum is about the next version so you know it's being worked on. So what more needs to be discussed on this topic ? I think nothing ...

Just lock the thread. Everything that "CAN" be said "HAS" been said already.

Don't stress yourself out over this. We all know that you work hard (or at least I know) doing what you do.

The new release will be out when it comes out and what will be in it will be in it. Will it be native with NS-7...We Shall ALL find out WHEN THE NEW UPDATE IS RELEASED.

In downloads is allredy midi map for NS7 . I was working on it over 20 hours. Now everythin is working, but no motors and leds.
Willl continue in next days.

Hello, I just buy the NS7, I am currently a Numark's CUE user, I love the NS7 but CUE does much more things than Serato Itch and also the BPM engine of Itch is less acurate than the one of Cue and on Itch if you dont have the bmp correct you cannot do loop correctly or using the sync button with out adjusting it manually.

On virtual dj forums a LOT of user have boght the NS7 whaiting it will be compatible with CUE or Virtual DJ can you tell us PLEASE:

I think I speak for a lot of us when I say we buy the NS7 to use it with Cue or Virtual DJ, Since you told us that it will be compatible on the product pdf ot the NS7.

Everytime someone starts a new post asking the same question about the NS7... Just lock it 123 and thats it. You buy dj software because you know it works with your current setup. You dont buy something and demand that virtual dj makes it work native. whats all the fuss.... You cant dj with Itch...? Itch comes with a manual.
