i recently moved my files to an external HD (Firewire), but it keeps disappearing from windows. I have to power it down and turn it on again for it to appear again.
Has anyone else had this issue? Are there any services in Win XP that should be enabled/disabled to fix this. I look into my bios and didnt see anything for this.

more info to help with this situation.
I left my laptop running (most of the day) with the external HD connected, which stay connected, it was always within windows explorer.
But after going to work tonight and using vdj , the drive again disconnected (about 1 hour after starting my gig)
