Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 and all previous versions dont support USB from the host machine.
this might be the case with other VM players.
you could try it for yourself to see if it works for you, but i would stay away from running VDJ in a VM. the VM takes up enough of your system as it is.
I've used VMs to run old programs that Vista dosent support, so that i can put WinXP in the Virtual Machine.
But VirtualDJ in a Virtual Machine?
will run, but you will struggle to connect to a 5.1 sound card...

If you already have an negative opinion on this I'll will not spend too many time on this topic. I didn't know that usb support was lacking in Virtual Pc 2007.

VMWare supports passing USB devices to a VM.
However, I think it would be a silly idea personally - video would be useless, there would be a performance hit, and to the DJ that all important thing - latency...

Is VMWare free?
I know VirtualPC is free, but no USB support.
The best use of a Virtual Environment would be for web-browsing, set it to disregard changes during your current session..

VMWare player is free but the full VMWare workstation isn't.
